Chaos Corona for Blender / Official Blender add-on

Hello,

Sorry if this has been dealt with earlier.

Are you considering making an official Blender add-on?

[C4D] General Discussion / Dusty global volume
« on: 2018-12-16, 14:07:23 »
Hello!

Any tips on how to best achieve a volume with dust particles?

Like this:

Thanks again!

Exactly what I'm looking for. :D

Thanks!

Yeah, that method is what I'm trying to use, but with the addition of a HDRI sky object. I could try fiddling with it a la trial and error.

Maybe a big sphere with reversed normals with the scene inside it, made invisible to the camera by a compositing tab?

Hello!

Is it possible to get a infinite floor look with a shadow cather material and at also use HDRI as lightning?
How can I achieve this? 2 sky objects? 1 for the infinite floor look, and 1 for the hdri?

Reminds me of that house in the Black Mirror episode "Crocodile". Stunning renders!

Kul att se fler svenskar här!
Också roligt att se lite annat än ArchViz.

Nice work! I like the vibrant colors.

[C4D] General Discussion / Re: Rendering LCD or OLED screens
« on: 2018-07-29, 21:49:49 »
That would be interesting as well, but I do not think I'll need that level of detail for this project.

Somewhat close renders, maybe 50cm from the object. As I'm thinking this will be a modern touchscreen with high resolution/ppi, individual pixels would be hard distinguish.
I'm thinking of making the screen like this:
Top layer - outer glass screen.
Middle - plane with a mockup graphic of the screen UI.
Bottom - some emitting backlight type of plane.

Am I in the ballpark, or should I approach it in some other way?

Maybe this is more of a modelling question?

[C4D] General Discussion / Rendering LCD or OLED screens

Hello!

What would you suggest is the best way to go about rendering a screen, to make it look as realistic as possible?

Should I just use Photoshop instead or are there any good methods for this?

Thanks!

[C4D] General Discussion / Re: Material size problem
« on: 2018-05-23, 15:01:54 »
I figured it out!

Feel like such a moron - the problem was not the bump map, but the reflective map that had the wrong settings. I set it to "Object" and lowered the relative scale, which gave me more consistent looks on both models. Thanks for the help everyone! One more lesson learned.

That did unfortunately not work.
The weird thing is that nothing seem to change in size as I try different settings and tiling.

I've tried every mapping method as well as tiled it up to 100.
Nothing seem to change.
I should mention that the material is a layered material. The base is a highly reflective bump mapped material, and the second layer is a kind of clear coat with color.
Could the layered material be my issue?
I have tried duplicating the layered material and all it's content materials, lowering the bump size etc. Nothing seem to happen in the IR.

This seems like such a basic thing that I should know at this point.
I someone know any good documentation on this topic? I don't even know what to search for.

Hello, this is a really basic question to a problem I can't seem to wrap my head around.

Take a look at the picture. The texture to the left is seemingly larger. How do i match it with the right hand texture?

Why do you enable a feature if you don't know what it does?

I used a glass material with dispersion enabled on some earlier renders. There were no noise problems in these renders.
I liked the way it made the glass look, although not knowing exactly what it does. Makes sense?

If you want to create chromatic aberrations I suggest doing it in post ie: Photoshop. Dispersion is the separation of light (colour) as it's being scattered/refracted. See attached. It will also increase your render times greatly. ;)

Ah, thank you for the ELI5! :) I have unchecked dispersion now.

So much to learn when you're new to rendering in general, and Corona in particular.
