Hej,

does anyone know how to produce a "fake" beamer light (rectangular) on a wall.
I cannot place a rectangle just in front of the wall with a light material and maybe alpha on it,
because the client want´s to place objects in front of the wall which should be part of the beamer image (shadow etc.).

I have tried placing a bitmap into the "light color" slot and also with light material..no success.

Would be great to figure this on out.

Thank you!

It's hard for me to imagine what you described. Could you post an example image of what you would like to achieve?

Hej Maru,

first thank you for the ultra fast response :)
Attached you can find an image (ugly, but it´s exactly the point).

The light needs the image / texture in it and has to cast shadows..dont know yet how to reproduce this with corona light´s.

Thank you very much!

Here are my results. Looks like it is virtually impossible to do using Corona lights as they will always create blurry results (I guess this is physically correct - it would be sharp only if the distance between the light and wall would be 0). But it is possible using standard Max lights (spot in my case) + projector map. Check the file (2015+2014 version).

Try using a standard spot with a map in projector slot. Would be nice to be able to get a sharp projection from corona lights though.

Hej maru,

it just works nice :)
If I even set the spotlight "type" to rectangle I do get the result I wanted.

@ paul jones:
I think that´s what maru just did.

Thank you!
