Hi,

my problem:
I do use IES Corona lights and the noise in the light shape does not want to get clear (it renders fast, but the noise in the lights wont get away).
When i am using 3dsmax lights and setting everything, so corona renders the ies, the rendertime "explodes".

So:
Can somebody tell me to get the best and fastest result with IES-Lights in corona?
Maybe some description about what steps and settings to work around?

I think this will safe one near deadline..

Thank you!

Maybe someone could upload a scene with 10-20 IES ligths in it.
This will explain how to use them.

It would help a lot...

We are currently working on an improvement in this case...

Hej, quick answer from the boss :), thank you.

ok, I was thinking to make the same fault over and over again.
So i am looking forward to the next, fixed built of corona where i can put all the ies-files.

I´m very happy you made this one (corona).
Everything gets more complicated, so we do need a tool which is easy to use..

Thank you, best regards
Nico

I've got the same problem - loading IES file in corona lights causes excessive noise when rendered. Should I use the default Max photometric lights instead? Does it render slower than corona lights?

Thanks!

UPDATE: Ok, I just found out that if I use standard photometric lights there's almost no noise where the IES shines. However, for the same amount of time there was a lot more noise to the rest of the scene. I reverted back to corona lights and set the "Light samples multiplier" to 8.0 instead of 2.0. This cleared some of the noise where the IES shines but not much and the rest of the scene became more noisy. What should I do?

I've experienced the same problem with Corona ies lights and max photometrics duke. The only semi-workable solution I've found is to try and mess with the directionality parameter of a Corona disk light...but this doesn't always workout as well as I want it to so I just put up with the excess rendering time.

Really hope this issue is fixed soon before Corona goes commercial.
Vray who?
