I'm in shock. Today i discovered, that bump mapping isn't affecting by color correction nor output nodes. Initially i thought, that it's Corona's bug, but mental ray acts the same. Wow, so many years i was wrapping texture into color correction and thinking that its doing something. And now i found, that it was illusion...

Gods. I never knew also. Just tried to see it with my own eyes and yeah... bummer.

Would love to hear an explanation why that is so though. o.O

Edit: I asked around a bit and it seems the CC map itself is to blame, because for some reason it performs no modification to the bitmap if it detects it is plugged into a bump slot.

Color and bump channels are separated internally in max, that's why some renderers had their specific bump maps that would allow for this functionality - Vray with Color2Bump Map and Brazil with Analytic Bump Map, for example. With these, colors will be translated to bump correctly, even with CC etc.

I would love to see this as a default behavior, too!
