Hi,

I was trying to test out the new Layered Material (1.3 release).
I hab 2 materials placed in the layer material (base and top material).
By using corona AO as so called layer mask beside the top material, corona or max
always forces one to pic again the map one has choosen for maximun distance for corona AO.

I hope it´s not explained to complicated.

Does someone else experience this problem?
If so, and if it hasnt been reported yet, I think it should get into one bug report.

Other than that I will love the new layer material :)

Thank you!
Greetings
Nico

Hi Nico,

Sorry, but either I did not understand your description of your problem, or I cannot reproduce it.

Here is what I did:
-created a teapot
-created a layered mtl
-left the base material with a default corona mtl
-created a new material in the next layer slot
-added CoronaAO as a mask for it
-nested a noise map in the CoronaAO's max distance slot
-it just works, no problems here...

If I did something wrong, can you write a step-by-step instruction? (1..., 2..., 3..., ...)

Hej maru,

first thank you for the reply.
I have attached 2 jpg´s.

I was like ghost clicking on the map slot for AO distance.

Hope the images will make clear, what i meant (?).

Thank you!

All the best
Nico

Confirmed, works with the setup you described. You didn't mention Corona Bitmap in the first post and it is obviously related to it. ;)

It is a little random, I managed to reproduce it, then it didn't want to pop up again.

Hej maru,

jep, I should have mentioned the "C-bitmap" :)
It´s like always the details..

Hope it helps getting 1.3 100%.
In the meantime the Blendmat will help out, as known.

Well then, next time ;)
and thank you!

All the best
Nico

You can also use the native bitmap instead of Corona's one. ;)

..yes, you´re right :)
I once read that if you use C-bitmap in your scene, it will render a little faster.
Is this the case, or am I wrong?

Thank you!
