I'd say, set all multipliers to 1 in Render>Corona settings>Interactive rendering tab and then do comparisons.

Found some little funny glitch, while testing displacement. Wouldn't call it a bug, though.


Btw, after recording this vid, i cuted it in vdub, recompressed and all this time i didn't realise that interactive is still running. Mighty impressive!

Interactive rendering:

1. MB don't reflect shutter speed changes, unless some additonal changes is made.
2. turn MB on and try to create some primitives in viewport = crash

It is, but you probably have locked viewport. Open render settings, and on the left of Render button, check if padlock icon is enabled ;) Of course you need other viewport to navigate, you can not navigate directly in VFB. So make sure in render settings, that your viewport is not locked, and then set viewport layout to display two or more viewport, and use one of the to move around ;)

That! One of the first things i always do, is lock viewport. Thank you.

Btw, max crashed when i was playing with motion blur and interacive. Will try to reproduce that.

That is some exciting news!

A few gripes from me:
* adjusting colormap does restart interactive rendering
* setting interactive in viewport, locks this viewport so it's not that much useful

Other than that, this feature feels very stable and mature. Great job!

Kurai, i'm not related with Corona devs in at all. I'm just moderating Corona forum. Do not let my words and actions to affect your judgement on Corona in any way, please.

You have been told numerous times, where you have to look for help in first place. It's pretty obvious that you're lacking basic knowledge of 3ds max, so blaming Corona for being too unfriendly is just unfair from your perspective. And don't get me wrong, my previous post wasn't meant to put you off - almost everybody started from 3ds max help and tutorials and it can teach you a lot in very begining.

Okay, thanks, I will give that a try :)

But I am baffled why there is no adequate support material explaining things fully. The 3 vids on youtube really don't cut it. There should be many short vids explaining every facet of the software.
Hopefully, Corona will address this before they take our cash.
Corona has nothing to do with it, at all.
I strongly recomend you to start with tutorials that ships with max itself: http://docs.autodesk.com/3DSMAX/16/ENU/3ds-Max-Tutorials/ When you'll complete all of them, you can look for specific tutorials on youtube or a paid ones, like digital tutors, etc. Then, and only then, you can come to forums and ask for help if such need will arise.

This looks good. Should you add some imperfections, scratches, dust, etc. one could easily take it for real thing.

This is fixed in daily builds. You have to wait for the next public or commercial release to try that. Or you can try to apply for alpha testing.

Well, imagine you have a brick wall, where every brick is separate mesh (box). Assign them all single material with our hypothetical wire colour map in diffuse slot. Now with the help of script or manually set different wire colour to each brick. Hit render and voila, we have nice multicolour brick wall! :]
I'm doing some lego models rendering at the moment and this map would be very handy. I'm using vertex colors for that now, but it's not very convenient and resource wasteful.
