[Max] I need help! / Frosted glass in reflection
« on: 2016-10-24, 10:27:26 »
Hej,

While building up a new scene,
I ran into a problem with reflections.

Please see the attached image.
The "frosted glass" on the left should be seen in the mirror on the right.

Material setup is pretty simple,
and even with uniform "frosted" glass it wont show up the blurred reflection in the mirror.

I hope someone can help here.

Thank you in advance!
Nico

[Max] Resolved Bugs / Re: Weird reflections - how to solve?
« on: 2016-10-14, 10:13:17 »
Hej Rimas,

I think what you see are shadows from the sunlight, not reflections (casted by wall and window frame).
This look´s natural to me :)

Oh, ok...I thought you had some blinds there.
If it´s a window plane like the beneath part, something´s wrong.

Hej marcell86,

there was a post some time ago about it.
I hope the link will work (just copied it from my browser).

https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php/topic,11766.msg76072.html#msg76072

You can take a look at my result.
It wont work in animations I think, because the micro-reflectance of the carpet is faked by a map.

I hope it will help
best regards

Hej,

I´m trying to use the PS Plugin from Frischluft (Lenscare).
Well, I do not even get close to any expected result using this Plugin and need help with this.
(I´m sure just to miss something).

My depth is not filtered (no AA) and I even tryed to double the resolution (rendered).

Attached you can find one example how I´m working right now.

I hope someone could help (?)

Thanks in advance.

General CG Discussion / Interesting web page for models
« on: 2016-08-05, 09:53:33 »
Hej,

I just found this site on the search for some models.

http://apparentreality.co/

Unfortunately it´s not on full function (you cannot buy something).
The system is supposed to be working this year (2016).

Just wanted to share, because I think there are some cool models.

Hej Tiago4D,

have you tried scene states in MAX?
It works very easy and does exactly what you describe.

I often use it, while rendering a batch.

[Max] I need help! / Re: Corona Lighting Error
« on: 2016-05-24, 18:01:31 »
Hej PhanHaDuc,

I think this is light "bouncing" from the floor material.
Im not sure how it´s called "Reflective GI Caustics" (?).

Try turning off your reflection from floor material and see if that´s the "problem".
If this is the case and you are not happy with it, use Rayswitch-map in your reflection map.

All the best & I hope it helps.

[Max] I need help! / Re: Box with Frosted-Wavy glass...
« on: 2016-05-11, 10:07:19 »
Hej gabyanz,

it´s a 3D model (no textures included).
These waves could be pretty hard to reproduce only with bump or displacement.
So I think this base mesh helps a lot.

Hej gabyanz,

as for the link to 3form it looks like this could help:
http://3dsky.org/3dmodels/show/3d_paniel_briz

(or maybe something similar, 3dsky has a lot of these 3d wall panels).
I have used this panel in one of my last projects.
It´s a pretty high res model and tileable.

I could imagine with reflection, refraction (+ absorption color) and normal bump it should work nicely.
(Though you need a matching bump map).

Hope it helps!
best regards

Answer from Designconnected:

Thank you for contacting us!

Sorry for answering in English, but it's the language that I can articulate the best.

Of course, we are open for direct suggestions - the Trello board is a way to make it more open and engaging for the community.
Thus said, we can't guarantee that we will create everything that you will suggest.
We hope that this won't disappoint you,
but we have very high standards for design and that's why we are offering curated selections of brands and designers.

Also, we are creating only 3d models that then can be offered on
www.designconnected.com
or
www.cgconnected.com.
For now, we aren't offering exclusive modelling services.

If you have some furnishings in mind, please,
feel free to email us and we will see what we can do for you.

I think it´s worth a try.
regards
Nico

I knew it was on Trello :)

Please see the attached screenshot from DC (red framed).
On this link we can still suggest something I think..if it works well, I dont know.

I will add a suggestion for the chair and monitor it.

Hej,

interesting :)
ok, this job is in work right now.

I have seen this too, some time ago.
This was like an external request site (Link or something..I dont remember).
But, well..I have send a request for one chair there this time and it´s still not on their site.

If this would be possible and they are fast it would be pretty awesome.

I will send a mail to the DC-support and ask them if it´s generally possible.

best regards

[Max] I need help! / Re: Velvet carpet

Hej Image Box Studio,

You received a PM.

CG Architect uses almost the same setup.
Just a little different.

Dont let this material fall after the project.
It´s even a charme on pillows or something similar.
Put it to your library :)

Hej Image Box Studio,

please find attached the material setup.
I hope it´s enough to understand.

The most important thing is the blend texture and the micro bump for the fuzzyness.

If you go through every step you will find out how it works.
Instance the colors and you will be happy.

Hope it helps and all the best to you.

Hej Image Box Studio,

pls see the attached image.
This project lies back a little time..
so I have to take a look at the material to be able to explain.

I think it could also be used for animations.
(Works with 2 opposed falloff maps, blended with some blotchy map).

I will post an explanation later on.

Sorry for my bad english :)

best regards
Nico
