[Max] I need help! / Re: Strange reflect with frosted glass
« on: 2017-05-03, 18:40:56 »
Hej kuttle,

I had this behaviour some time ago.
It took me some time to figure out, what´s the problem.

See:
https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php/topic,13584.msg87578.html#msg87578

Ondra answered there.
Maybe he can "fix" this in next build (?)

If you set the glossyness from the floor mat to 1.0 it shows the frosted glass correct.
Even with 0.99 glossyness it will show the "fault" result.

I dont like this too & I hope we can expect and update on this.

..I forgot something.

For the settings in material I go for.
-0,3cm MIN  &
+0,7cm MAX

Or the other way around..what looks best.

(depending on object thickness)

Hej Peter,

as seen on the homepage I would go with the attached displace map.
(Maybe manipulate it further..16bit or so).

I´m always tiling this map pretty small with displace screensize 1.2 px.
I know this is may sound over board, but if there´s enough RAM you could go even to 1.0.

Give it a try and grettings to Simon! :)

Hej Juraj,

I do like the darker mood.
The ones you usually post are much brighter.

Well it´s often based on clients request,
but I do like the darker mood much more.
Makes it easier to set some focus, I think.

Did you notice the tiling on the upper beams?
(Attached copy).

Also if I may want to ask about the plant model you´re using beside the bed (?).
Most of the plants I find are way to small to be impressive, but these look decent!

All the best, I really like your works!

Another hint would be the actual name of the material.
Carpenters (I am one) call it "Multiplex"
It's a finer and higher quality material then the
rough boards (See-Kiefer). It has A, B and C quality levels wich is
reffered to the final top layer.

Maybe you can find something over google or a
manufacturer homepage like Egger.

Best regards

..Strg C V didnt work..so here´s the link:

Hej belly,

maybe this is a good base for your textures:

vizpark.com/shop/plywood-panels

..and maybe you will not find anything without branches and have to adapt the textures in PS.
The planks from vizpark are high res and a nice start.

I would give it a go.

All the best and I hope it helps

Hej johnymrazko,

as seen from your ref. it´s a good leather texture you´re looking for.
I know the pain of scanning textures and matching them to the real world example.
(Even more if you´re under some crazy deadline).

If it´s not some kind of unique style fabric pattern, but leather I would go with this:
https://www.arroway-textures.ch/de/products/designcraft-1

This arroway pack includes even a PS file for every leather to set every color you want.
It comes with ultra high res images and good lower res ones.
(All the other layers are there for sure, like bump, normal, glossy...etc.)

I do never even touch my scanner anymore if it comes to leather, since I own this pack.

Hope it helps!
best regards

Hej,

I liked using the scene states manager over the state sets in max.
I dont remember when, but somehow the scene states manager didnt show up anymore.

So on this forum post:
http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/3ds-max-forum/scene-states-manager-missing/td-p/6675988/page/2

Someone found out, it is related to 3D Connexion script plugin..thing.
Follow his steps and youre good to go..it works again.

This will only affect people using products from 3D Connexion.

All the best

« on: 2016-12-05, 10:00:28 »
Hej Ondra,

thank you for the feedback.
Right now the clients are very happy with the results, that it doesnt really matter.
But sooner or later they will notice the fault, so good news to hear it will be fixed.

best regards & thank you for producing this great engine!

Hej Cheesemsmsm,

thank you for the hint!
Seems like it´s going to be fixed in 1.6 :)

I will wait for it.
Dont like using daily builds, because of render farms..etc.

Thank you & a good weekend

[Max] I need help! / cube map VR images / bloom & glare
« on: 2016-12-02, 09:49:03 »
Hej,

Maybe I´m doing something wrong,
but I get visible edging with bloom&glare after I calculated my VR cubemaps into the actual VR.

Now you could say: use spherical 360 images.
But my question is, if this is going to be "fixed"?

Looking forward to your Feedback

General CG Discussion / Re: Interesting web page for models
« on: 2016-12-01, 13:01:12 »
This post is a bit old,
but I was wondering if this shop goes online this year and after asking I found out it has transformed to this page:

https://www.bentanji.com/latest

Maybe it´s allready popular, but it wasnt for me :)
The models there do not come with corona materials, but who knows..
if we support them, maybe they will adapt.

Let´s keep this guy alive and buy his stuff :)
The models are absolutely worth it.

all the best

Hej,

I have found the "problem".
While further looking at the materials I reset the reflection from Mirror-material from 0,98 back to 1,00 and
the bathroom glass-wall shows up like it should be.

Though I think it should be possible.
Is this a limitation or not possible in general?

Thanks and all the best.
