Title: FAQ/tips
Post by: VadoZe on 2013-10-17, 19:51:42
Sorry, but I understand Nothing)
Can I somewhere read, what settings do what - for better understanding how all it works, to tune needed quality/time ratio, or which are better for different render scenarios?
Maybe someone smart can gather some kind of FAQ or tricks n tips in one place, pls?

I read tons of topics and find some interesting info, but all of it is scattered around here, and as newbie I'm not sure which of them should trust, or can it be useful in my particular case?
Thank You, someone)

A good FAQ is still in the making. In the meantime you can look here:

I agree it would be a good idea to make some comprehensive documentation but there are two major problems with it:

-Corona is constantly changing
-It would take a lot of time to describe everything

Good news is that you can always ask on this forum (start a new thread or send a pm) and you will probably get answered quickly.

If it's hard - describe most important things, noise sources and solutions, albedo & maps, light power/type and camera, portals, better settings for exterior, interior, animation; average time for render average scene on average machine etc. Of course greater and better for understanding - with pictures!
As examples (imho):

http://www.render.ru/books/show_book.php?book_id=931 (donno is there english version))
