Hi - struggling a bit myself - but is it possible to just use the decal as a displacement stamp only? i.e. no diffuse or any other component just the displacement map loaded in?

Thanks

Not at present, no, since it has to have a Material assigned and the Material contains Diffuse and everything else.

Ok thanks. Would be good if it could in the future. It would be perfect for what I need to do (car wing with indent for a badge)...

Somehow I was able to add cracks to this road without a diffuse channel. This material is a legacy material. Maybe that makes a difference?

Did you use the displacement as the opacity mask too? I tried that but because I need a close-up there was a fringe that I couldn't get away with - but it would have been ok for a distant shot I think...

Thank you

I think I used the same crack texture, inverted and maybe more contrast. I'll zoom in and see how it looks.

Thank you. Yep pretty much what I tried just without the contrast.

Here's a closer look. My setup is not hi-res enough for this close by the way.
