Hi,

I wonder if there is any kind of bug on the CoronaAO map. The issue is easier to explain if you have a look at the image attache that shows:
The image on the left side the Max Distance value is 55mm´
The image on the right side the Max Distance value is 60mm

The problem is that instead of having the dirt only on the corners, it spreads to the entire surface.
I am not sure if this is a bug or if I am doing something wrong.

Many thanks

Ok. I got it.

I need to have a bigger width in order to work.
But what if I want to have dirt corners on a geometry like that is not too thick?

What's the thickness of this box?

Initially was only 50mm(3015*1520*50mm), but I increased the thickness to 100mm which means I can use a Max Distance of 110mm before the entire surface gets covered with "dirt".

I think I have to use another technique to get the effect I want.

Thanks for the reply.

Neil Blevins to the resque: http://www.neilblevins.com/cg_education/vertex_map_wear/vertex_map_wear.htm

Exactly. That is what I am doing. I also got his $1 tutorial about texturing.

If anyone is interested check Neil's talk about texturing: http://area.autodesk.com/au2014

PS: I cannot remember if this issue happens in Vray.
