Hi guys,
I'm having strange artifacts in my renders (render sample attached) - I want to say that it looks like a bucket problem but I don't know if corona is rendering behind the scene in buckets like vray...
Anyway, anyone has an idea why this is happening ? I have a dead-line for Thursday and really need a solution fast
Peace,
Kobi

Hi there, is this during rendering or are they in the final images? Also, what does your lighting setup consist of?

Are you using Caustics in the glass material?

Might seem crazy, but is that material scaled up to epic proportions? Are we seeing individual pixels from that texture under a microscope? Just want you to rule that out first. Maybe you had a jumpy finger and added a couple zeroes to the scale. Too much coffee?

This is happening every time I'm rendering in viewport or final rendering...doesn't matter.
Light setup consist of 1 corona sky with HDRI for GI only and 1 skylight with HDRI for reflections & direct visibility. also some spherical corona lights for the interior

No caustics are used

Scaling of materials is correct - this happens on all kind of materials, not just a specific one

I also tried different GI Solvers, nothing is perfect and those strange squares still appears, but It seems that using UHD Cache with preset set to animation instead of still frame gives the best results (much fewer artifact than other methods)

Is this happening when your have UHD Cache set as your secondary GI solver? Or only when using the 4K Cache GI solver?

Thanks, I was just making sure. In that case, it may be related to the adaptive light solver or adaptive environment sampler.
You can find both options in the development/experimental stuff tab - https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/articles/4528469959953
You can try disabling one of them or both and check if the issue persists.

We are interested in the scene itself. Could you please attach it to a support ticket here? https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

I'm not sure what options are you referring to, I don't see those options in the development tab.
Regarding sending you the scene - no problem - i'll do it later today

Can you please check the performance tab for the Adaptive Light Solver?

Hi Kobi,

I've just checked your scene, disabling the adaptive light solver as requested by my colleague Maru, should resolve this as it does when testing it here. We hope that helps. :)

Thanks, that solved it.
I also found out that where I had problems with the artifacts - If I changed the material from physical material to legacy material that also solve the problem.
Any idea why this happens ?
