update - Some more renders using Modo + Corona -

Hi everyone

My first post and I want to share with you my study using Modo and Corona. And to know your opinions.
I´m not a 3DS Max guy, i learned the basics only to try Corona. About corona I have to say it is amazing.
The modeling and texturing in this small scene I used Modo and to render I export to 3DS max to render in Corona.
Each image render at resolution of 3200x2400 and 2400x3200 about 1 hour and 20min. The post production is minimal I used Motiva RealCamera for that.

Sorry for english. ;)

Here are the images.

Yeah, i have been trying to explain it for years that there is just something odd about Modo renderer, which makes all Archviz images done in Modo look somewhat weird... It is combination of bad tone mapping with too simplified non-realistic material BRDF.

You must "on" your floor lamp. There is a light on the wall, but no light inside inside the lampshade.

Leather is really interesting as for me, how do you achieve this sweet contrast in gathers. Low IOR? Can you share the material?

Rawalanche - I think the big difference is the materials. In Modo to get a simple material with bump and good reflections is hard. And this is what  I liked about Corona the material editor is truly amazing. Of course my materials are simple but, is efficient I think. ;)

astudio - Yeah.... my light seems not "on". But there´s a light inside the lampshade. ;)
The material of the couch is simple, here a some screen of it.

One thing I have to do more is do better materials, I´m getting used to 3DS Max to assign material on the objects. I have to admit in Modo is a way more simple.

Thanks for the comments guys. I appreciate. :)

Best regards,
Leo.

Maybe you could post it on the foundry Modo community gallery. So more people get interested in Corona (while realizing what a shitty renderer Modo has) :D

Thanks kahein. Have Corona in Modo would be awesome.  ;)

Rawalanche - It´s done. Posted in the Foundry community, let´s hear what they think about it. ;)

Leo.

Thanks michaltimko! I´m using a daylight system with corona sky. I defined the value around 17hours.

Hi guys.

Just some more tests with Corona and Modo.
Modo for modeling and texturing the whole scene.
The images have pretty much no post production, I used Motiva real camera for that.

Images uploaded in the first post.

Best,
Leo.

Really nice...  i like soft lighting...  my only problem is with way too low-res texture of chessboard :)

Thanks Rawalanche! You are right, maybe I could try using a texture with better resolution.
You mentioned the soft lighting.  this is what I most liked in Corona, the lighting is simple amazing. Hard to get this result in Modo with this facility.

I know that, but it's quite hard to explain it to people on Foundry forum ;)

Yeah Rawalanche... again you are right. The modo users have to use Corona to see the diference by itself.
I saw the difference. ;)

Thank cgdigi, I´m glad you liked.
