Hey guys,

I've noticed that sometimes when working with the Skin Shader Material,    the SSS color I dial in gets pushed,  in render,   into its opposite color.   As in:   blood-red turns into blue-green.    I think it has something to do with the radius value,  but I'm not sure.

What accounts for this phenomenon?

Thanks,  ras

It's light 'math' at work. If a certain wavelength gets scattered its complementary color is what remains, same thing happens in the atmosphere for example. Look up rayleigh scattering for examples.
Our eyes aren't spectacular at picking this up when subtle, hence it can look unnatural in CG, plus colors and skin/flesh interactions are much more complex in reality. Reduce saturation if you think it's too strong.
