its good to add a texture option on corona sun for controling intensity of light , for example lets us to use a noise map as intensity for creating light variation on scene .

Great possibility for using with HDR EXR environments and control for sun intensity for Specular's and reflection's///

Since sun is so small, mapping it practically does not make a difference. We will keep the sun lean and clean, since you have the option to fake mapped sun with other types of lights
