Ondra, use all the extra resources you can get from ChaosGroup to make Corona better.
Vlado, don't transform Corona to Vray, no one wants to see ''advanced'' and ''expert'' tabs anymore.


Yeah, totally agreed.
Honestly, I don't wanna spend whole season to read Corona Complete Manual like wut I did years ago with V-ray Complete Manual just to fully understand how it works.
 -_- Hope I won't need to learn coding and program my own Renderer in the near future, lol.

back in a days when things like a manual were useful, if i remember properly, the technology both HW and SW was completely different.....thats why you have used vray in the 1st place - because it coudl handle your tasks better and more efficent...the comps were not where they are today and everything was more or less a cheat...so you had to learn how to do that.

lets skip all the hysteria and wait for even brighter future.

Be happy Corona has ended in Chaosgroups hands rather than in the hand of some greedy corporate or venture fund that knows SHIT about rendering and is all about money and doesnt give a fuck about users.

HAving Vray and Corona under one hood is great and will be great, youll get a lot of tech much sooner than when Ondra and the crew woudl have to develope it again and basically the same way...its waste of resource.

And why FOR GODS SAKE woudl Vlado start adding spinners to Corona when all the dev will be in the Ondras hands? This doesnt make sense it would go against the primary decision which is having two best racing cars in the garage....one easier to handle with automatic gear shift and one more complicated with good old manual clutch.  But put a great rider in a seat and both will reach the finish more or less the same.

Its pure perfect forward thinking from both and for once for the greater good of user.

Not every company has to be like Autodesk so why dont you start thinking a bit more optimistic guys??

Stop the bashing, stop the hatred, grow up and lets draw a thick line and look forward to 1.7 final :)

the thing is we have a few scenes which we need to convert from vray to corona and were finding it really hard to match the exposure and lighting.

Reason being:
- vray uses physical camera as well as corona BUT vray reacts to changes in the EV values in the environment exposure settgin whereas corona doesnt at all

- usign simple exposure in corona makes the image quite dark at default settgins and this is where i am completely lost as the EV value dial in the FB is greyed out and i cant tweak it. Furthermore, changing EV value in the simple exposure tab doesnt change a thing no matter how high and low i set it.

The only almost identical match i get when i setup the exposure values in both vrays and coronas camera the same (albeit some burns and classical small differences)

I am sure there are plenty of you that had to do this too so whats the right procedure to get the same exposure please?

And why is the EV dial greyed out?
And why doesnt Corona respond atall to the Physical Camera Exposure Control in the Environment Tab in MAX?
And why changing the EV value in simple exposure contorl doesnt do a damn thing? :)))

Here is the example of the closest match i get...with a little tone mapping tweaks i will be able to get similar results.
Although i am really surprised since bot renderers use similar sun/sky model (Hosek) and both are "physical" - the intensity of the color on the ground is quite different. Any idea why? Both setups omit any tonemapping whatsoever...

Hi guys,
i have pretty default scene he with sun and sky but i ve noticed the EV exposure value in the FB is greyed out and cannot be tweaked.
How come?
What do i need to setup to make it tweakable?
CHeers! i am sure it just something really dumb from my end so a hint woudl be really helpful :)

thanks, well, there will definitelly be more "useful" objects along the way, as well as more wooden pieces.
Anyone interested, please PM me your email and i will put you on a mailing list whenever our dedicated Gumroad site is up and running.

Right now were focusing on scanning products from the companies such as:

These are all very well known among designers and the 3D models on the internet are very scarce.
Moreover, we have a great source of these to scan from hence the main focus.

That being said, i would be very happy to hear your suggestions on what brands you would like us to focus as well :)

Hello guys,

i would like to present you a part of our library of scanned 3D interior/exterior assets - soon to be released for sale.
Our main focus will be accessories and feature objects which are hard to come by on the internet - things with artistic and human touch.
Most of the textures used on these models are 4-6K so they are usable for some really nice close-ups.
Sorry for the forum resize, i am in search for some image sites that dont resize that much and will post hires links soon.

Hello guys,
no idea whether this has been answered anywhere but how do i use the Corona image editor with animations?
IS there some sort of command line tool that can make use of saved preset?
