Render IR over team render

Hi,

Is it possible to get Team Render power to the Render IR functionality? As I work on a laptop I would love to be able to use my nodes for this.

not at the moment, and it is not planned in the foreseeable future.
Please note that that would not necessarily help you much, as the network speed would very negatively influence this, and therefore even an old laptop would, in a hypothetical scenario, perform better in IR than laptop + $5000 PC over TR.

Thanks Jan, then there is no option for a desktop-workstation with great CPU (lite TR-3960X) to compete with the GPU renderers. Am I right?

I would not say that. There are advantages to both CPU and GPU renderers, it's eventually up to the user which one they prefer.
