The ads in the middle of a post are just plane silly.

Is that the ways things are going now.

It's a reference to help illustrate my questions, sorry if it's not "plane" obvious. I'm not sure what your point is.

If it's somehow against forum rules, please let me know.

I can't for the life of me get this right in Corona. With HDRI in a brighter scene, I believe I can get passable results, though admittedly not realistic (see attached image).

But whenever I try and set a pitch dark environment, I can't balance the lighting. Materials start looking incredibly dull. Altering the EV leads me nowhere.

Here's a general example everyone knows by now. I'm not necessarily going for this look, but of course we all aim to accomplish animation as good as this. It's very simple, but what did they do here regarding environment?

Do you customarily use Reflections override for this? What light size and directionality to use?

  • Corona 1.6, 3ds Max 2016
  • Windows 8.1

Had happened before, but just happened twice in a row, when configuring ZDepth.

3ds Max froze while I was setting Min Z (white) and then pressed Tab in order to move to the next item.

Minor annoyance, but dangerous if autosave is set to higher intervals. Don't know if it's applicable to other elements in the UI.

Thank you, maru. CXR is going to come in handy.

But they don't seem to support denoising at the moment either, after the update. Smartcheck returns an error saying "Denoise not yet supported". Any word on that?

Are they supporting 1.6 already? If so, do I need to update RebusDrop manually or something?

Wow, that's actually pretty interesting! I shouldn't be surprised it works as you'd expect

Looks promising! I like this dark style!

How did you animate the lighting here? What's the setup? I'm always interested to learn more about this sort of "reveal" lighting - comes in handy with all sorts of product visualizations

BTW, your latest tutorial about lights and light materials is really kickass! That's what really needed by comunity IMHO. Complements to the person from which you bought it :]

Actually my last tutorials do not seem that much popular for some reason :|

I mean for example the car one I had a really great feeling about, but the reception was a bit lukewarm, compared to something like PBR shading one, which I've put a lot less time and effort into, yet it blew up. People generally seem to like just very basic material setup tutorials for some reason :)

Don't worry. Project oriented tutorials hold immense value. People were probably thrown off by the lenght of the videos. I myself couldn't watch the whole project yet, but I plan on finding time to finish it!

I like the exterior shots! Is that Corona AO on the grey exterior wall?

Hi,

There may be an obvious answer to the question, but can I use Siger Maps with Rebus?

Yes, but you should do a test first.

Absolutely. Thank you!
