  • Corona Standalone is no longer showing modal error dialogs in silent mode
  • Fixed undo/redo for Clear list option in right-click menu on "+" button in various object lists.
  • Fixed Clear list option in right-click menu on "+" button in Scatter not to cause crashes.

    • DR server - Added an option to restart slave 3ds Max after each render
    • DR Server - Added a button for opening the folder with EXR images which were sent to master
    • DR Master - Added a button to DR render settings for opening the folder with EXR images which were sent from slaves
  • Lister
    • Fixed light Kelvin temperature is displayed as 1000 by default
    • Fixed scatter count and per square/cube controls being enabled even when the scatter object is switched to UV scattering
    • Fixed scatter per square/cube parameter not being displayed in chosen display units - the control now displays the correct value, but does not display the actual unit yet
    • Reduced the UI lag when creating scatter/light objects when scatter/light lister tab is open. More thorough fix coming soon

  • Fixed DR slaves not fetching missing assets from master in some cases (for example bitmaps referenced by atmospheric effects)
  • CScatter
    • In object lists, when clicking the "..." button, reverted back to previous object selection dialog used in Corona v2.
    • Fixed Scatter to respect Material IDs set on polygons of distribute-on objects while evaluating MultiMap plugged into density or scale map slots. Behavior in old scenes is not changed unless the Legacy checkbox in the Scattering rollout gets unchecked.
    • Fixed Scatter not to occasionally crash when displaying instances as wire boxes or point clouds in the viewport.
    • Tooltips for Factor and Frequency spinners in Scatter are now displayed also for their labels. The tooltips now also state under which circumstances are the spinners enabled.
    • The “Original wire colors” checkbox in Scatter is now disabled for Previz types for which it is not supported.
    • The density spinner below distribute-on object list has been renamed to Factor spinner since it better describes its purpose (see its improved tooltip for further details). Also both Factor and Frequency spinners are now disabled when they are not considered in current scattering mode.
  • Lister
    • Added scattering mode (1D/2D/3D) parameter for scatter objects
    • Fixed the “count” and “per square/cube” parameter to correctly map to the corresponding parameters of the scatter object in 3D scattering mode

    • System-wide settings (accessible through the System Settings dialog) are now accesible from MAXScript
    • Fixed precision issues with 16-bit images

    • Fixed IR restarts when scatter vizualization settings changes
    • Daylight system no longer creates a target for CoronaSun
    • Fixed rare crashes with non-manifold geometry
    • Since almost all of the known bugs with the new experimental light solver are fixed, it is no longer called experimental
    • Lister
      • Fixed spinners not properly resetting to the default value on right-click
      • Directionality parameter added to the light lister
      • Added button to launch the light lister to CoronaLight UI
      • Fixed viewport lags when creating light and scatter objects while the lister is open
      • Fixed lister UI controls blinking when a listed item is being modified (e.g. dragging a spinner)
      • Fixed light color swatch being enabled when the listed light is switched to texmap color

    • Fixed crash occurring when attempting to show removed render element in Corona VFB
    • Updated the readme.txt for the "Unpack" option of the Corona for 3ds Max installer
    • Added an error message when rendering a mesh with changing topology and velocity render element is enabled
    • Fixed "Undoing deleted Corona Sun creates two targets instead of the Sun and a target"
    • CoronaColorCorrect now preserves alpha of the input map

      • Fixed crashes occurring while scattering large amounts of instances.
      • Fixed “Convert to max geometry” button not working

      • Fixed some cases where rendering non-camera view leads to an incorrect result

    • Fix loading denoised image from render history (previously may resulted in NaNs when using regions, render selected etc.)
    • Fixed: CoronaSun object cannot be selected when using the Daylight system without sky light
    • Fixed loading of gray+alpha PNG and certain TIFF images in CoronaBitmap.
    • Fixed rare crashes with the new light solver
    • Fixed incorrect unmapping of Filmic tonemapping
    • Fixed handling of alpha channel in 16-bit images (gamma correction is no longer applied).
    • Fixed DR slaves sometimes introducing "dots" of darker color in CMasking_ID render element
    • We now check the version of loaded NVIDIA AI denoiser DLL and report if wrong dll is loaded (can happen if different renderer uses different version of NVIDIA AI denoiser)
    • Default screen space displacement size changed to 3px
    • Lister
      • Fixed crash with too many items to be listed
      • When there are many items to be displayed, lister now splits the listed items into pages of 100 items per page.
    • DR Server
      • Path to 3ds Max is now correctly auto-detected even when the 3ds Max is reinstalled to a different path, unless the path was explicitly overridden in the configuration file.
      • Better error reporting when the slave 3ds Max fails to start

    • Fixed "Clear" button in VFB not working on image denoised by NVIDIA AI denoiser (issue introduced in v3)
    • Fixed crash in the new light solver with extremely bright lights
    • Fixed uninstaller not removing all Corona files from Program Files
    • NVIDIA AI denoiser no longer reports version mismatch unless there is actually some problem
    • Fixed NVIDIA AI denoiser not working correctly in some cases when other renderer is installed alongside Corona
