Hi All

This is a personal project just to improve my modeling and material editing skills.
You can see the full presentation here https://www.behance.net/gallery/58430205/The-Private-Club-(CG)

A personal project presented on Behance.  The house design was part of a commissioned project we did a couple of months ago.

[Max] General Discussion / IES noise on large scale interior
« on: 2017-05-21, 13:33:00 »
Hello. This might have been discussed before.
I am currently working on a large scale interior (floor plan of 21 offices) that will be animated as a walkthrough. Obviously due to the animation I need to keep everything tidy and optimized (portals, UHD cache, no emissive  materials etc).
I noticed a great noise increase after the first 5 areas I modeled, with the noise being almost exlcusive to the ies lights. So I tried to isolate each room and render using the same exact settings.
Am I doing something wrong with my light setup or render settings ?

[Archive] Chaos Corona for Maya / Corona for Maya
« on: 2016-12-07, 17:36:50 »
I have been following corona since Alpha 4, I was expecting it to get big and it exceeded my expectations in every aspect.
Unfortunately for me I had to switch to Maya since my current rigs are way to complex for Max. That made me ask the obvious, are there any
plans for corona on maya? I know there where some test in the past but there is no info since then. I am sure many production houses and animators will
be happy with a release.

Corona is great for most 3D rendering applications, it evolved very well. Still missing some options, VDB volumes and particle rendering but I am sure the team will add support at some point.
I still remember corona on the alpha 4 state and I am very pleased on how fast it evolved.

The particles were rendered in Nuke , mostly for speed (DOF, motion blur takes time on raytrace renders) and safety (if i need to change something it will not take 3-4 hours of additional render.
I also uploaded a screenshot of the nuke setup for anyone interested on the particle effects.

Nice one, could you please tell me the render time, I always find difficult to get rid off the noise using the volumetrics effect.

I used only one IES light which made the scene very light, I also used single bounce scattering on the Volumetric material which saved a lot of time.
The time was 2min 10 sec/frame on each rendernode at 4K,  12passes+ Noise reduction (each rendernode uses 2x 2690v3 xeons)

A short halloween video to test the corona volumetrics and animation capabilities.
Modeled on 3ds max and marvelous designer, rendered with corona render, composed on Nuke and graded on Premiere.

[Max] General Discussion / Re: Corona 1.3 Benchmark
« on: 2016-03-09, 16:29:33 »
That looks to be the case. I am just curious about future upgrades and the difference between generation of cpus. There best benchmarks are on the software you will actually use and since corona is one in our case I was surprised to see that difference. (note: Juraj that was your test I saw).  Very nice benchmark overall and easy to test across many machines. The alpha V4 gave me the higher results for a i7 3820 than the 2650v3's.

I wonder, why is a 2680v2 lower that the 2650v3. The 2650v3 doesnt even come close to the base clock of the 2680v2 with turbo boost on. When on full load I get close to 2.6ghz per core.

The ivy leafs and part of the background are renders, the building-structure is part of the image , with an extended use of lighting and the girl was photographed on location, even though it could be done in studio. The photos are part of a personal portfolio of Lara Tsitouras a personal trainer in UK. You can see the rest of the image here https://www.behance.net/gallery/25417155/Wild-by-Nature .
