HI Guys, here are a few shots from a project I'm finishing up. I saw it featured in Dezeen and really wanted to recreate it in 3D. The procedural bricks were a bit time consuming but I think they turned out ok Rendered with corona A6 3000x3000 (approx) for 450frames about 4 hours each (dual Xeon)  Feel free to ask any questions. C & C welcome.  I'll be posting more from the set as I finish them.

Corona - the best rendering solution!

Hi guys, thanks for the feedback, its all welcome :)

Rozumny and Yagi - My leaf materials are pretty simple. Diffuse and Translucency with glossiness and bump maps also. I have included an image showing the basic setup (bump was cropped off but it is set to .2) I have also included a couple of the reference images I started with. All the plants in this scene are built with vairations of this set up (maps/translucency/glossiness values change for each plant.

Polymax, thanks for the reply. Was there a specific material you are referring to?

How long did you take to make the whole thing?

Hi gerbilho, Most of it was pretty simple to build (perhaps a day or two) but I went through lots of testing for the types of plants I wanted over the course of a week or so. The landscaping was the hard part for sure. The rendering and post work were done over a weekend (about 4 hours rendering time per image @ 450 frames)

thanks for the screenshot. was the scene lit with only a HDRI? was there any particular change you made in the render settings or was it just default settings all through?

Hi Yagi,

The scene is lit with 1 HDRI (24K). I dont change much from default settings. Very simple but I find it works really well.
