The moment when rendering looks better than the picture...

I'll take that as a compliment!

Oh, you bet! It is astonishing work!

Such a cool project, I saw the rest of the images on Behance.
What camera settings did you use for the DOF?

Guys, do you know of a file manager that can also read Rhino files/Rhino blocks?

@Erald I gave up on photographic settings. I only use EV.

I set my HDRI/Sun to a normal value and build all other lighting up from there. And I use highlight compression.

Thanks! I am using photographic settings instead. Will give it a try illuminating with a HDRI instead of a sun. Maybe it helps...

Excellent!
Is the outside environment modeled or just pictures? Hdri or Sun+Sky?  I am personally struggling to find a right spot between the very bright exterior for a similar scene, and the darker interior... The sun in my render washes out all the window area....
Any tips?

I have a similar scene, open office like this one, but the light coming from outside is so bright, it is burning all the window area... I am using corona sun+sky.
How did you manage to find a right spot in the camera settings for the dark interior and bright exterior?
Thanks!

Thank you both for the replies! This looks very good indeed!
Hope all that displacement doesn't kill rendering times by too much...

Hi everyone,
What are your suggestions for the best way to create a material similar to fireproofing spray, used to cover structure or metal ceilings, See image attached.
Thank you!

« on: 2019-01-21, 16:15:38 »
If you render a cubemap, the max output you should do is related to the device you are going to look the rendering at.
You should match the vertical pixel resolution of the display, 1 pixel in the render = 1 pixel in the screen. If you go higher it is an overkill, and you won't see the difference anyway as the display wont be able to reproduce it.

For example:
Oculus Rift display is 2160 x 1200. That means the vertical resolution should not exceed 1200px. Final output :1200 x 14400 for cubemap 1:12 ratio
Oculus Go  display is 2560 x 1440  That means the vertical resolution should not exceed 1440px. Final output :1440 x 17280 for cubemap 1:12 ratio
Gear VR / Samsung display x1440: That means the vertical resolution should not exceed 1440px. Final output :1440 x 17280 for cubemap 1:12 ratio

Hope this helps.
