[Max] Feature Requests / Corona Render Menu (as option)
« on: 2022-11-22, 00:04:27 »
Hi,
Check out this image in the attachment. Could you add Corona Render Menu?
It could be optionally as selection during install.

[Max] General Discussion / Menu instead of corona icons
« on: 2022-08-21, 20:34:48 »
I got problems with floating icons of Corona Render - they dont stick, and float every time I run 3ds max.
Did you solve that issue?

Maybe as additionally option - all the corona functions could be in Menu bar?
I cant do it manually because I can't find Corona functions in Customize UI

OK, it works in the R8 daily build 6 that I just downloaded - thanks!

Some previous releases also stopped working correctly, no sure when - mayby between 6 and 7.

The Bake To Texture not working corectly - the projection is warped and distorted - I am sensind 3 images from Scanline, Arnold and Corona
and 3ds max 2022 file..

Nice FStorm GeoPattern video, I would like to see it in Corona.. very powerful

Hi again,
I downloaded HOTFIX and it is OK now

Thanks a lot :)
Cheers!

Hi,
Could you please add additional tilling-mode in Corona Texture?
I mean CLAMP mode that repeat the last pixel.

Thanks in advance

The Convert to Max geometry button extracts all scatter elements to single elements.
It would be great if we have an option (checkbox or button) to convert it direcly to single obejct.
Of course I am using now Attach to get all obejcts into one, but max Attach is very slow so it takes time..

Gallery / Re: 'Tears in the purple rain'
« on: 2020-04-14, 01:37:50 »
I think we can call this one ‘Tears in the purple rain’. A combined homage to both Blade Runner and Prince. I was listening to Prince for a while as I worked on this and it wasn’t until I was nearly finished that I realized I was unknowingly making a complete recreation of the Purple Rain album cover. If you know, you know. Cheers to @fabiopalvelli for providing the base car mesh. Got a few days of entertainment out of it. It’s a 1968 Alfa Romeo Carabo concept car which I thought would fit perfectly into the cyberpunk genre. Image created with 3ds Max, Corona, and Substance Painter.

Nice.. looks more like a drawing :)
What was your Substance to Corona workflow? How did you converted materials?

[Max] Feature Requests / Corona Menu instead of Toolbar
« on: 2020-04-04, 17:16:47 »
Hi,
I think using corona shortcuts from menu bar is more readable than toolbar.
On new 3ds max installation I always turn off corona toolbar and add new menu bar, unfortunately
I can't add all functions from toolbar just the Corona Mat Lib, maybe you could add all that actions
that are in the toolbar.. in Menu all items are descibed so you don't need to guess the icon meaning
and the UI is cleaner and have more room..

[Max] Feature Requests / Re: Speed up trick technique..
« on: 2019-11-27, 21:35:01 »
This sounds like exactly what adaptivity does. You can see it in action using the Sampling Focus render pass. Devs can say if something described here is not accounted for in what adaptivity already does :)

Hmm, ok, but is the adaptive sampling already implemented and works as I mentioned in the second example?

anyway.. it does not solve the problem with empty areas that I mentioned in the first example..

[Max] Feature Requests / Speed up trick technique..
« on: 2019-11-27, 18:57:54 »
Hi,
I was thinking about this technique that could speed up things a bit.

1. empty area reducing
So, if I have an object that is small and occupies only a small portion of the whole image the renderes also focuses on the empy/black/enviroment area where there is nothing, and the rendering time is longer. If I adject the rendering region the rendering time recudes a lot over a half time. The problem is when the object is moving not static. So maybe its possible to avoid computing the empty areas, or do somekind of auto adjustment region?

2. less noise less computing
The second idea is to leave areas with less noise and redirect computing power to much noiser areas.

[Max] Feature Requests / Physical Material Support
« on: 2019-11-24, 21:25:50 »
Hi,
So the Nitrous viewport is better and better when we are using Physical Material, we can get very nice PBR results, rendering in Arnold give almost the same result as in the viewport..
So I was wondering is it possible to support and OPTIMIZE (or to convert in runtime) the physical material so we can use it in the viewport and have similar render on Corona without changing the matrial to CoronaMtl,
chceck the yt video:
