Anyone got any magic to deal with this without subdividing any more? The indentation is a C4D Displacer object with a spline mask as a field - works ok apart from the distortion in the reflections - and unfortunately I need to be relatively close for a shot. I've fiddled with phong angles and all that jazz. Displacer has a smoothing modifier on it too. Thanks!

Try increasing the spline points.
Also this might be better done with a Decal with displacement
