Title: Possibility to move the material folder to another disk
Post by: Harald De Luca on 2022-06-21, 15:10:11
Hello, I noticed that the material folder was more than 3 GB bigger than the previous version. It would be nice in the next version to add a feature to change the default location of the C drive to another drive for the material folder.

If you mean the Material Library, this will actually go away entirely as we plan on moving the materials into Cosmos at some point, and that way you only download the ones you need as you need them, rather than having to download them all and all at once. https://trello.com/c/ziUs9as4/228-unify-cosmos-and-corona-material-library

Okay, thanks for the answer. But in the meantime, is there any way to relink the material folder if it is moved to another drive?

Another question: with the Cosmo, will there be the possibility to choose the location where the materials are downloaded? It would be nice not to clutter up the "C" drive

You can already do that, see https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/articles/4953965929617-How-to-Use-Chaos-Cosmos-Assets-C4D or https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/articles/4953819541265-How-to-Use-Chaos-Cosmos-Assets-3ds-Max- and search for "You can change the "Default Download Folder" by clicking the three dots icon and then clicking on "Settings"."

I see Corona Material will be moving to cosmos, the problem with cosmos browser is, its implimented with windows edge and cannot be docked into the cinema 4d windows system. i hope that can be fixed with cosmos in the feature that it can be docked into cinemas window system.

Hi there, I have added this request to our internal reports. Whether or not this is possible will be up to the devs. So no promises here! ;)
