That's for the Corona team to answer. I think i've heard that they want to write their own tool eventually, but i have no idea when, or if that will happen. If you think that's quite important for your workflow, you can leave a message in the most wanted feature topic.

It's a limitation of 3ds Max include/exclude list window. Until Corona will have its own dedicated window, we need to live with this annoying issue.

P.S. in case you didn't know - you still can use splines as include/exclude objects, but you need to pick them from the viewport, or layer explorer and not through exclude/include list window.

(x2) vs (x8)? I have no idea if 8 CPUs on a single board is possible at all, or if it's just a benchmarks failure to properly detect specs :]

For Corona interactive your GPU choice is irrelevant. For rendering Corona uses CPU only, no matter interactive or not. The only thing where it uses GPU, is real-time AI denoising, but for that even your old 1070 TI is more than enough. In other words, you would most likely not see any difference in Corona if you'd use GTX 960, or RTX 4090

The blurriness of a shadow depends on combination of 3 factors - size of a light source, distance from light source to the object that is casting shadow and the distance from the object that is casting shadow to the object that is receiving shadow.
Another factor is the angle of the light source  rispect to the plane of surface that recieve shadows.

It's just a third factor viewed from another perspective ;]

If it's only about 3ds Max and Corona, then more VRAM is better choice then higher speed, but most likely you will also use other applications where raw power of GPU is more important, so take that into account as well. I recently built very similarly specced machine and was choosing between 3060 12GB and 3060 TI 8GB. I chose former, because for me difference in performance wasn't big enough to justify reduced VRAM and increased price.

Please don't mix bug reporting and feature requests in the single topic, we have dedicated boards for that. And don't forget general rule - one report/request per topic.

Regarding reported issues - volume not working when camera is inside volume object is expected and it always was like that, nothing changed in Corona 9, however this limitation has been lifted in Corona 10, you can already test it in the latest available daily build.

I have disabled OOCT right away and i have no Corona related crashes, but i'm on 9HF1, so likely that's unrelated to your issue.

The blurriness of a shadow depends on combination of 3 factors - size of a light source, distance from light source to the object that is casting shadow and the distance from the object that is casting shadow to the object that is receiving shadow. If your light source is the sun, then it's even more simple, since two first factors are fixed (at least in real life), so the only thing you can do to increase shadow sharpness is to move the tree closer to the wall. You can observe this in your very example - foliage that are closest to the wall cast much sharper shadows than those that are farther away.

Is there any way to disable out-of-core textures (I don't want this feature anyway).

Yes, there is. Look for the checkbox in render setup>performance>performance settings.

Apparently that's not the only thing that is levitating in this shot :]

Not directly related to the issue raised in the topic, just a pro-tip - by plugging slightly blurred opacity map in to bump, or additional bump channel, you can dramatically improve material's appearance in your renders.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i think you're talking about missing textures, not materials, right? It's most likely paths issue, for one reason or another, 3ds Max can't find the files at the specified locations. I don't know how Corona material library file paths are organized, since i don't use it, but you need to find a way how to resolve those paths, otherwise the textures will be missing. Same thing applies to Forest Pack's missing assets.

You're welcome!
