Also, on thinking about it, if you prefer to use the VFB for tone mapping due to familiarity - you should be able to save the composited but not tone mapped result from your post editor to EXR, rename to CXR, and load into the VFB to use the familiar VFB tools, if you like :) Hope this helps! Tom

If you're going to composite things in post, you must skip tone mapping in the VFB and do that in post instead (as almost all tone mapping will stop the output being linear, and then compositing will not work properly). If you've developed some tone mapping you like in the VFB, you'd have to disable it and recreate it using equivalents in your post editor of choice (pretty straightforward stuff, there's generally a one-to-one in terms of any given tone mapping function).

As maru says, the poll would not be useful - we'd have to follow up with every person who voted on every issue, and ask them to submit a ticket so that we had information like which Corona version, which DCC and which version, which OS, is it scene specific, can they send in the sample scene, can they share any error messages they get, and so on. So we can just skip the middle part (the poll) and go straight to having tickets raised for any issue anyone is experiencing, where we'll have all the details needed to actually take action, and we'll still have the "overall count of how many times an issue is reported" too :)

The problem with Vantage for animations at the moment is you have to build the animation entirely inside Vantage, you can't export anything animated from your DCC to Vantage from Corona.

1. There are no plans at present to implement Chaos Cloud Rendering for Corona

2. There could only be news about this if such a thing went live, as it's not possible to talk about pricing / licensing / bundling / offers / combos etc. in advance, sorry. So you can only find out about it if it happens, and only once it has happened.

3. Yes, this is coming in Corona 12 Update 1, the next release. There won't be Cloud Rendering, but there will be Cloud Collaboration, and that includes the ability to create Virtual Tours. The next release will need you to manually create the hotspots for now, after uploading your panoramas, but in a future release we'll adopt the automatic hotspot generation (derived from camera locations) that was just released in V-Ray 7. Basically once we send to Cloud Collaboration, you'll have all of Cloud Collaboration (since most of it happens on the Cloud :) Once you get up there, it's all the same wherever things came from).

Or you could try adjusting the "Animation" parameters and see if the flicker effect changes along with it, e.g. don't use repeat since this is definitely a repeating cycle :) And your length is set to 9, which is.... 3 times 3, and that's the length of the repeat in your video, 9 frames.

TBH there really does seem to be some animation there, perhaps in the step size, or quality, or perhaps in the absorption, because the pattern repeats - it starts detailed and dense, then fades over three frames, then holds for three frames, then jumps to yet less detailed and dense and holds for three frames, then goes and repeats the exact same cycle. Such a specific set of repeats seems unlikely to come from some render engine error. Can you open a ticket and send in the scene?

The presets are new, though you could always have added your own map to control the distribution in previous releases. It's "Distribution" in https://docs.chaos.com/display/CRC4D/Chaos+Scatter .

The .vrscene is set up for Vantage and not set up for V-Ray (and so, not set up for the Cloud). I'd say it's unlikely to work at all well. I've never tried loading one of our vrscenes into Max with V-Ray for instance, since it is just not an intended use, but I have serious doubts on how well it would work :)

PS - does it work if you save it direct from the VFB, "the old way", just so we can narrow this down to the new save from C4D stuff?

CXR has changed lately, e.g. the ability to have multiple LightMixes, and new things in the tone mapping stack. The CIE has not updated, so it doesn't recognize those new changes (no matter how the CXR is saved). Instead what can be done is opening it in the VFB without any need to "resume render", so that the CXRs can be edited there. Do they open as CXRs in the VFB, with Lightmixes and tone mapping intact? That's the only way to be sure they are saving properly as CXRs these days. Interesting about the loading into history, I'd expect that to work, once we'll have to have the devs take a look at.

Not sure what you mean about them being only EXR? When you drag and drop them into the Corona VFB, do they show the tone mapping, render elements, LightMixes etc?

If  they do have the same issue(s) or thoughts, they should vote for it when it appears on the Ideas Portal - https://chaoscorona.ideas.aha.io/

(Not to say they can't comment here, but the vote is what will help things move around in the priority list :) )

That's the intention, since it can be written to from C4D itself, should work with rendering animations, batch rendering, etc. OFC with a daily, we welcome your testing to ensure it does everything expected, and does so without bugs or problems! Do give us your feedback if you can try it out, over in the daily builds feedback thread. Thanks!

[C4D] General Discussion / Re: lut

LUTs are not applied like layers using soft light, screen etc. - you need a specific LUT option in your image or video editor which will ask you to load the LUT to apply (just like it works in Corona). Consult your video editor help to find out how to apply LUTs. Then you simply point that filter, or whatever it calls it in your editor, at the relevant LUT file in C:\Program Files\Corona\lut (or wherever you have installed Corona).
