Gallery / Crathorne Dusky Green Shaker Kitchen Interior
« on: 2022-03-07, 19:19:02 »
Dusky green hues are a popular choice for kitchens at the moment. They bring a sense of heritage and tradition which works perfectly with Shaker cabinetry in suitably large interiors. This client was quite specific with their design and requested loads of additional images showing the utility area, cabinetry and sink, which works perfectly for us as we get to display our 3D models in much finer detail.

Our 3D team fabricated each concept in 3DSMax with some of the softer props modelled in Z-brush. The final renders were done in Corona, comp'ing in Fusion and finishing touches were completed in Photoshop to ensure colour accuracy.

Here's a quick clip of some of the kitchen visuals we recently created for our kitchen clients 'Greatest Showrooms' TV advert. This one was quite straightforward compared to some of the more advanced motion tracked animations we've produced for them in the past, but it's always a pleasure to work on projects that mix live performances with CGI.

Gallery / Charcoal Slatwall Monochrome Living Room
« on: 2022-02-10, 12:42:58 »
Just a quick post this week of a monochrome living room we've created for a client that manufactures timber wall panels. They wanted to display their new charcoal black timber slats in a modern living room with plenty of organic textures.

This one gave our artists a chance to sit down and create a new hair and fur rug (shameless plug for our previous tutorial www.pikcells.com/lab/photorealistic-rug-hair-and-fur-tutorial), this time with a much more courageous shaggy pile length.

Our client requested new kitchen interiors for their latest brochure, requesting a staggering fourteen CGI interiors. Each with a leading establishing image and several supporting cameos to show off internal cabinetry accessories and other key features. Everything here was designed in house by our interiors team, taking inspiration from current trends, such as working-from-home with office features and workspaces featuring prominently.
Our 3D team fabricated each concept in 3DSMax with additional props modelled in Z-brush and some soft furnishings simulation in Marvelous Designer. The final renders were done in Corona, comp'ed in Fusion and finishing touches were completed in Photoshop to ensure colour accuracy.

Gallery / Helsinki Gloss White Kitchen Interior
« on: 2021-12-17, 11:48:57 »
In this timber clad kitchen CGI we've gone for that ultra modern look, using open shelving in place of wall units and mid-height oven cabinets. You can’t go wrong with white cabinetry and large slim framed windows to create a bright spacious kitchen space. Our interior designers have warmed the cool whites back up by combining them with natural oak wall cladding and furnishings.

This simple interior has been created using 3DSMax and rendered using Corona renderer. Colour accuracy adjustments and finishing touches were added using Adobe Photoshop and Fusion Studio 16.

Lighting is a fundamental component of composing a cracking CG image. When used correctly lighting can elevate a strong design by creating distinct atmospheres, tell the viewer where to look or simply just balance a scene to make the photorealism look more natural.

We've designed and styled this interior in house with the CG scenes created using 3DSMax and rendered using Corona renderer. Additional props like the soft furnishings were individually modelled with tweaks in Zbrush. Colour accuracy adjustments and finishing touches were added using Adobe Photoshop and Fusion Studio 16.

« on: 2021-11-22, 17:27:46 »
If you've payed attention to interior trends this year, you'll most likely have come across some dramatic green kitchens. A darker green palette has been a firm favourite this year and our stylists have seized the opportunity to feature the trend in this kitchen and bootroom / utility, as this client allowed us more freedom to be creative with the designs.

All the interior design was done in-house and the CGI scenes produced by our 3D team using 3DSMax and rendered using Corona renderer (of course). Additional props and ornaments in the glazed cabinets were individually modelled with tweaks in Zbrush. Colour accuracy adjustments and finishing touches were added using Adobe Photoshop and Fusion Studio 16.

« on: 2021-11-11, 11:34:27 »
Grey kitchens are a designer's dream, when combined with appropriate palette there's limitless styling possibilities. In this CGI our interiors team have featured the best of both classic and contemporary styles, pairing wide bordered dust grey doors with premium countertops and gold accessories. They also planned a concealed home bar, hidden away from plain sight but handy when situations call for a celebration.

The interior layout and styling was crafted in-house and produced in 3D using 3DSMax, rendered using Corona renderer. Additional props and ornaments in the glazed cabinets were individually modelled with tweaks in Zbrush. Colour accuracy adjustments and finishing touches were added using Adobe Photoshop and Fusion Studio 16.

Here's another of our new kitchen sets that we've completed recently. Our client gave us free rein on the interior design for their new brochure imagery, so our interiors team have created some wonderful aspirational spaces. The ideal for this room was to design an interior with timeless elegance, combining a kitchen and working from home space.

We've used 3DSMax and rendered using Corona. Some additional props and soft furnishings were individually modelled with Zbrush. Colour accuracy adjustments and finishing touches were added using Adobe Photoshop and Fusion Studio 16.

Our client gave us free rein on the interior design for their new brochure imagery, selecting only the cabinetry they wanted us to incorporate. Cream and beige seem to have a bit of a reputation for being boring, but our team have proved that beige is back. Soft, inviting, neutral but warmer than plain white, it's the perfect shade for creating a stylish contemporary kitchen space with a homely feel that's still spacious and full of light.

We've used 3DSMax and rendered using Corona. Some additional props and soft furnishings were individually modelled with Zbrush. Colour accuracy adjustments and finishing touches were added using Adobe Photoshop and Fusion Studio 16.

Gallery / Bathroom CGI's
« on: 2021-09-09, 17:02:44 »
Here's some of our recent bathroom images that were created for a client to display their wet-wall panels. The client provided a basic idea of the interiors they wanted to create with mood-boards of products and styles. Our interior team then elaborated and generated full interiors elevating the concepts to these exquisite designs.

The majority of the 3D was created in 3DSmax other than the cloth / towels which we edited with zbrush. These then had Corona Hair and Fur applied to give the material that softer look (Let us know if you want more details on this).
Final renders have been created using Corona and composition done in Fusion 16. Tweaks, colour accuracy + finishing touches in Photoshop.

Warm copper tones feature alongside dark, rich wood cabinetry and eye-catching Maltese patterned tiles in this bathroom scene.

A contemporary wet-room with wall-mounted cabinetry and a Crittall shower screen for a clean-lined industrial style.

---
A terrazzo wet-wall bathroom with a wider single-bowl vanity unit and slatted wood wall used to soften the lighting and add more complimentary wood textures.

Gallery / Vanity Cabinetry and Bathroom Fittings
« on: 2021-07-15, 15:55:56 »
We've recently completed a series of glamourous CGI's for a high-end American bathroom fitting brand. They provided us with distinctive interior layouts, to exhibit their new collection of luxury taps / faucets.
Our 3D artists modelled the eclectic props and interior furniture in 3DSMax, producing both close-up sink renders and full interior images.
As usual we've used 3DSMax and Corona renderer here with the colour adjustments and finishing touches completed in Fusion and Photoshop.

Gallery / Multiplex Edged Kitchen Cabinetry
« on: 2021-05-27, 17:05:55 »
When our client sent the layouts over for these ply-edged cabinets, we knew we had to produce first class 3D with brilliant composition. By featuring a contrasting multiplex edge on these modern slab grey doors, the design becomes instantly more interesting without adding cost with more expensive cabinetry.

3DSMax and Corona used on these with edits and finishing touches in Fusion 16 and Photoshop.

Gallery / Modern Mediterranean Kitchen Interior
« on: 2021-04-23, 11:15:56 »
With homeowners becoming more adventurous with their colour choices, our client commissioned this CG imagery to show off their new red cabinetry. The bold colour palette really draws the eye, emphasizing the creative feature island which incorporates dining seating and a wine rack. Our interiors team elevated the clients design and applying a modern mediterranean style, which particularly works well with the excellent woodgrain textures and encaustic tiles.

3DSMax here with Corona renderer, additional colour fixes and retouches in Photoshop and Fusion Studio 16.

Gallery / Kitchen of the Year 2021
« on: 2021-04-08, 16:56:19 »
We realise that the post title is a bold claim, but our CG images collected a couple of awards in this years Ideal Home magazine awards, including the coveted prize of “Kitchen of the Year”.

We had the pleasure of designing the kitchen layout, styling and CG production on this one. We used 3DSMax, rendering in Corona and made some additional tweaks and post production in Fusion Studio 16 & Photoshop.
