General info: Corona 8 hotfix 1, C4D R21, Windows 10.

A commmon workflow for me is to render to the picture viewer, and while rendering is taking place, adjust the tonemapping parameters to get the desired look

It worked perfectly in V7. But since V8 there are a number of ongoing issues. Mostly effecting scenes created in previous versions:

1. When changing a a tonemapping parameter, the image in the pictureviewer doesn't update unless I zoom in or out.

2. Values typed into the fields often dont 'stick', leaving me to use the less exact 'scrubby' method.

3. The 'Reset' box triggers a pop-up 'are you sure you want to reset' dialogue. After pressing OK a duplicate of this dialogue seems to still be present behind the other open windows.

4. More of a general quibble than a bug - but it seems much less elegant to have the tonemapping settings pop-open in an additional panel. It would be preferable for it to unfold in the Post process panel.

Hi Dave, thanks for bring up these issues with us. I respect the fact that we all have different workflows, but may I ask why you choose the PV over the VFB? I'm purely curious here ;) As for point 4, You should be able to dock the tone mapping window if it pops out for you. This will need to be done each time you use the PV though. Saving the UI didn't remember this for me.

1. I was not able to reproduce this with V8 HF1 on R21. It is working as expected here.
2. Values not sticking was reported (for both Mac and Win) and we will need to investigate this further. As a side note, I tested this here and is working as expected.

3. As for the ''reset'' box, can you please point me to where I can find this? I seem to be missing something.

Finally, it's not compulsory, but if you have a moment to record these issues and send us the video, that would be handy.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused so far.

"may I ask why you choose the PV over the VFB?"

I'm often tweaking a 4k or 5k image and don't want to be resizing it constantly. In the corona VFB you can't zoom out to see the whole image (why!) In the Picture Viewer you can.

"As for the ''reset'' box, can you please point me to where I can find this? I seem to be missing something."
See the attached screengrab. (I can't work out how to record the screen on my PC unfortunately, and the problem doesn't seem to be there on Mac. But basically the dialogue is still there behind everything after I close the other windows)

"may I ask why you choose the PV over the VFB?”

Navigating an image in the VFB is extremely clunky.
No need to repeat the zoom issues that many complained about for years.
Pan left/ right using a scrollbar???  That maybe was cool in the 90’s?!
I would use the VFB if image navigation works the exact same as in PV.

Thanks for your attention Beanzvision. I'm always impressed by the interaction on this forum!

To clarify the UI quibble in point 4 of my post.... I meant that when using the post-process panel in PV, the tonemapping needs to be opened in a separate panel. This is opposite to best UI practices, where the most used common controls (exposure, whitebalace, highlight clamp) should be most easily accessible. See screengrab.

There is no problem with this in the VFB. But as mentioned previously, I can't use that due to the inability to zoom out of the image.

Hi Dave, thanks for the kind words ;) This is also ''dockable'' but as previously mentioned, once closed it will have to be done again :/
