How does Autosave work?
In corona preferences I have autosave enabled, but it does not work, corona preference folder is empty. I tried to change folder but can not do it: once i chose the autosave folder it can not go any further, but i can only click on cancel.
Did I miss or forgot some passage? Is a bug or is this feature not yet active?

Corona build 2017-10-11 - Cinema 4d R18 - MacOs Sierra

Doesn't work here on the PC. There may be two issues:

- Trying to set the save destination is actually a "File Open" dialog so needs you to select a file that already exists, rather than pick a destination folder and file name

- I tried to overcome that by just typing in folder and filename into the parameter rather than choosing one through the OS file select dialog, but even then nothing was saved when rendering, or after 60 seconds when I set autosave to 1 min intervals. Of course, could be that entering the folder and filename directly prevented this from working, so it may just be one issue :)

Also just tested using the Save Multipass option from the regular C4D Save section of the Render Settings dialog, to PSD, and again got all the layers. Repeated that saving Multipass to JPG, and got a separate JPG for each pass. Just in case anyone is working on an animation :)

I tested in the latest daily build, it's a recommended update as a great many things have changed since Alpha 6 (see https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?board=40.0)

All seemed to work ok there, I saved from the VFB using Save All to EXR and got one EXR for every pass in the multipass. saved to CXR from there and all the layers were there in a single file in Photoshop after renaming to EXR. I used Dump to CXR from the Picture Viewer and that also had all the layers. I could go into the Layer tab in the Picture Viewer, and using Single Pass checkbox save each pass one by one. I saved to PSD from the PV to PSD format, making sure "Layers" was checked in the output dialog, and it opened in PS with all the layers.

Let me know which of those work for you. Could be that there are changes between Alpha 6 and the latest daily too, not sure on that as haven't tried the Alpha in a while now :)

Hmmm ...
I've done some tests. After loading .crx VFB continues rendering but image is black.

Can you give more information, such as the steps followed, Mac or PC, etc? Also, does the saved cxr look correct when opened in the Corona Image Editor for example?

Here's what I tested and it worked (C4D R19, PC, latest Corona daily)
- Load scene
- Render in VFB for 10 passes
- Save to CXR from the VFB save dropdown
- Close C4D
- Reopen C4D and reload the scene (the same scene has to be loaded)
- From the VFB, choose the Resume file option from the Render dropdown
- The rendering picked up from where it left off

Not sure if it was reported - if I have an animated scene, when I change frames in the timeline with IR running, IR doesn't udpate (it does redraw, but the scene doesn't update - in this case it was a simple object rotating via keyframed animation).

If you want separate control over the lighting intensity and the visible look, you can use a rayswitch material, see https://help.c4d.corona-renderer.com/support/solutions/articles/12000005460-what-is-rayswitch-material-and-map-

Create your Light Material as before only this time uncheck Emit light (it will still work in this case! If you leave it enabled it will bleed through into the visible when using it in this way). Add it to the GI slot of the RaySwitch. Duplicate that LightMaterial, and add it to the other three slots. Now you can control the lighting cast into the scene with the intensity of the first LightMtl, and the brightness of the visible / reflected / refracted version with the intensity of the second.

Here's a grab of the RaySwitch setup, and an example where I exaggerated the difference:

Hi all!

Don't think I've seen this reported.

I can't pin down exact steps, but when I've been working with a scene with the Shadowcatcher in it, I am getting very regular crashes that happen when I render for something more than the 1st time. Sometimes it's the 4th time, sometimes the 8th time. The 1st time always seems to render fine. It seems to be related to having changed something in the Shadowcatcher material, and maybe also related to having the Shadowcatcher material open for editing.

Doesn't seem to matter if the Shadowcatcher is in Environment or Backplate mode. In both cases I've been using a Corona Light Material in the Shadowcatcher's slot.

The scene is basic, plane for the shadowcatcher, then a simple bench object, though had the same crashes with a more complex car object too. Bug report text is attached in case it is helpful.

C4D R19, and C4D R18 (bug report is from R19), Corona Oct 9th build.
