Deleting the phong tags off the objects makes the IR and offline render look the same. Not the first time that Phong tags seem to act oddly at the moment with Corona. This doesn't change the "different look" with the material override interestingly, so maybe that is unrelated after all :)

Another odd thing that I think I have seen before (but I forget where) - if a Material Override is applied in the Render Settings, some of the leaves are shaded differently, even though the material should now all be the same. May be a clue as to what is happening.

This is already working for me (within the limitation that the VFB scales to the final render size at the moment, and that you can only zoom out "so far"), unless you are asking for something other than zooming in and out of the rendered image using the wheel?

Anything in C4D

Andrea

Be sure to check out the playlist at

That's where the existing tutorials for C4D are. More will be coming of course! Also, most of the Max ones apply too, as the core engine is the same, so for topics we haven't yet covered in video format for C4D, the Max ones could do in the meantime.

Also, be sure to check our C4D helpdesk pages at https://help.c4d.corona-renderer.com/support/home

I'd check out the foliage material tutorial at

The FrontBack map would be the one to use for having two different materials on each side of a leaf. Hope this helps!

There's no separate documentation at this time, a YouTube tutorial would be the best once we have that developed :) In the meantime, the tooltips for the material give a good explanation on how it works. BTW, if you mean how to apply it to 3ds Max native hair and fur, it goes in the MR shader slot in the Hair and Fur object settings.

Ok awesome let me know how the tests go. If you want to share the scene, you can use the private uploader then we can test on exactly the same scene (https://corona-renderer.com/upload)

TY! Just to check - Full Denoising was used as the setting before rendering? Not "Gather data" or "Fireflies"? The image was saved from the Beauty pass, and not LightMix? (If it was LightMix, was Denoising enabled for each LightSelect)? Does it show "Denoising" in the VFB after rendering, to show it is calculating it? Image was from the Corona VFB and not the PV? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to see what is happening, as I've never had Denoising not work so it is worth checking all these items, thank you for your time reporting!

4615
Any news on the denoiser? I don't see it mentioned on the log. I don't know it it' universal but I'm not the only one that thinks it doesn't seem to be working at all

Not sure what you mean by "not working at all" - I'm using it on a daily basis :) The only reports I've seen are that it may have issues with Team Render (which Nikola said he was going to check to see if it is working, but it should be). Can you give an example of it not working, perhaps even share the scene, but certainly screen grabs of your renders with the Denoising parameters shown would be useful. Thanks!

The CXR is just an EXR file with some extra data, renaming it to EXR should open it in Photoshop, as one possible immediate solution.

Ours looks at Corona itself, giving a look at its feature set and controls for rendering in general, no matter what kind of work you do with Corona Renderer. Also, you get to meet the team :)

The SOA courses are specifically about architectural visualization, so kind of "architectural visualization when using Corona Renderer" (I have never attended a SOA course, so base this on their course description). SOA are certified trainers of course, so you can be sure that all their information is accurate - they will be taking our information on using the render engine in general, and then expanding on that into arch-vis specific scenes, details and uses. I also believe that they cover general arch-vis information, looking at things like composition and other such topics that we don't cover.

Nothing set yet for next year, sorry. We try to have the courses set and announced a month or two in advance, but earlier than that it can be hard to set a fixed timeframe (as it may be related to the Corona Renderer releases, for example). We are aiming to have one every quarter or so, if all goes to plan that means in December or January we'll be announcing one for sometime in the first 3 months of next year.

Actually, none of those checkboxes appear to do anything, in a regular CoronaMaterial as well as the LightMaterial. I am not sure whether they should work, that would be for the devs to say :)

The way I am used to doing it is using the RaySwitch material (drop the LightMtl into the Global Illumination slot, leave the Directly visible slot empty)

Here's where to find it, in the Performance tab (it's unchecked by default)
