Hi guys,
I need to make a wall of tiles with the material as shown in the attached pic.
I modeled a brick, but I have no idea how to create the effect of the material where it fades near the edges of the model. I think I should use vertex maps ?? but I've never used it before...If someone can help in pointing me how to start doing this it will be great.
Peace,
Kobi

Hi, You could also try using a Corona AO shader to get a similar look.

looks interesting - will try that tommorow

I tried to set up a material with the distance shader but I can't figure out how you did this. The distance shader can't get vertex maps, so how did you do it ? can you please share a screenshot of the distance shader properties ?

It works in a simiar way to C4Ds native proximal shader. You use another object, spline or whatever to drive the mask. There were some examples posted somewhere on the Corona site - but I can't quite remember where.
In this case I split the polys off from the beveled area and used them to drive the distance (as a mask in the layered shader).
I deleted the file as it was a 2 minute example only, so I can't share it I'm afraid.
