ahhhhhh....! FOUND.
If I do some setting in IR "Post".... from picture viewer it does not save background layer in psd.
To get background layer.... don't do any setting in Post, keep it disable, render again and save layered psd, you will get background layer.
Process is like this or its a bug....?
Thanks.

Do you also get the same result with Cinema's standard renderer?

C4d standard never tried but in Vray it was fine... no issue....!

Well, I tested this with both the standard renderer and Corona (obviously) and when saving to .psd (with layers checked) everything shows up in PS, background and all.

This occasionally happens with me too.
When I save from PV a layered psd - occasionally when I open the file the mask passes etc are there, but the 'beauty' background isn't.
It's particularly odd as the psd thumbnail previews with the beauty image.
Normally I just save it again and that solves it.
I've been meaning to mention this this for a while, but wanted to see if I could reproduce it on demand first.

Thnaks for your try but I think you not seen my video which I sent long time back....! See my post... may be you will find.
Sure it works until you dont play with VFB Post, play with that... do some setting and turn off or on LUT or Tone Mapping.... background will disappear. Give a try...!
Thanks.

Tried all that, Still works for me.

Aha!
Yep - I've just tried again. Using a file that I've had no problems with previously.
I rendered it until it was finished. Then tweaked and toggled the tone mapping settings in the corona tag of the Picture Viewer.
Then saved out as a layered 32bit psd.
The thumbnail preview shows the image, but the opened PSD has the 'background' image missing (see attached).
Using the Corona 3 full release, C4D 20, mac, latest version of Ps.

This might very well be a Mac issue if that's the case. Unless there are some Windows users here that have experienced the same thing?

Here is a small video again.
