Hi. I´m making some very simple test using Corona and photos from http://yellows.dk/ in order to have real references to compare and improve my overall understanding of light and materials so it´s just an exercise.

Hi all. I´m trying to create a Carpaint shader using Corona and i have found a problem using normal maps to create flakes on glancing angles. I´m using Vray to compares just because it´s the only other engine i have, and i´m not sure if this is problem or just Vray being not precise enough. But i want to achieve the Vray Result because it´s more appealing to me.

I convert the material from Vray using the corona converter just to get the exact glossy values in order to get perfect match. But the real problems it´s the normal map, in Corona its visible at glancing angles causing some sort of "noise".

And Corona render without Normal map. Look perfect:


All renders are RAW.

Hi. I´m having problems using Corona Proxy and Corona V1.1.1

I´m making a plant and all the flowers are proxys (arround 4000 proxys) everything works fine, but i decide to change the name of the proxy file in order to organize my work, thinking on simply replace the proxy path after, but MAX slow down to 1Frame/Min or something like that, i can´t do anything. After 5 min i can change the proxy path to the new one and everything works fine again.

I can send you the file if you want.

Hi.
I´m making some free tutorials about Corona Render after the 1.0 Release. I´m making those in Spanish because usually we don´t get a lot of stuff in our language and manly because i speak really bad English. xD

My question is: can/must i insert Corona render logo in the video?.

Hi all.

Last night i rescue this very old model full of modeling errors i made like 8 years ago to try Corona Interactive mode and i must say its amazing, i can´t wait to get the release. As you can see materials and geometry are far from finish, but i want to share this test because i like the overall result using Corona.

Just in case i want to fix the car. Do you guys know some good reference photos under the car?.

The only issue i have found is some random crashes wen i use Softbox HDRi inside Corona light during interactive mode. 3D Studio MAX 2014 - Corona Feb 18 2015 16:47:23

Hi.
I was unable to use my computer for about 2 months because a rare constant dizzy. Now i´m trying to get back to work.
I´m not entirely satisfied whit this project, but i already spend a lot of time on it and i feel like it´s time to start a new one. This are some test i´m making before render the final images.
Any comments will be appreciated.

[Max] Resolved Bugs / Posible bug. Daily Build.

I´m not sure if this is really a bug or a new material model in the daily builds.

Same scene, one using daily build and the other using 7.1 (Top-7.1 / Bott-Daily)

The reflections look different. I´m having similar behavior in all refractive materials. It´s this normal?.

Hi.

I´m making some vegetation test in corona. Hope you like it and give me some valuable tips to improve.
Trees and bushes are made using GrowFx plugin, these trees are a MidPoly versions to use in mid/far range, no metamesh/displacement, i need to improve them. When i try to use the HightPoly ones i get out of RAM. I made this images to test the trees and learn Corona. The scene is far from finish but i just want a fast vegetation test.







Render times 8-12h using HDRi, but they need more to get clean noise (i just don´t have the time). I have some problems in order to get clean results in this particular scene. Albedo looks ok, i disable all opacity/normal maps from trees, low albedos, hide glass/curtains, etc. Bucket mode give me the best results so far but takes a lot of time. PT+PT and PT+HD both give me noisy DOF or fireflies (even 400+ passes). Ray count its around 1mill (usually y get more. I7 3770K). I think the main problems is the rays going through so many trees and low glossy wood on the house. I´m very new to Corona, so i´m making something wrong for sure.

[Max] I need help! / Nested blend + Bump Problems

Hi.

I´m having this problem and can´t figure how to solve it.

If i use any bump/normal/displace in one of the blend materials, the bump/normal/displace effect applies to all the layers. So i can´t blend some materials. Sometimes i want to generate gloss or sparks using bump and add a mirror layer without bump. Works fine in Vray, i´m doing something wrong?.

If i disable bump/normal it blends ok but i loose the spark effect:


I´m not trying to compare vray and Corona, Vray its just mi reference engine. I love Corona.

Hi. Excuse my bad English.

I´m a recent user of Corona and i must say i´m socked whit the easy of use / fast results. I can´t believe it´s only an alpha version.
I want to share whit you this test.



Still WIP, i need to add a lot of imperfections / Dust  and more complex shader. One problem i have using blend material + Displace, i want the displace details but  can´t build complex materials without blend. The lights looks plane without some images, but i can´t figured out how to add custom images to corona lights.
The model need some sculpted details and better Unwrap. I don´t like the leather material.

Please let me know how to improve it.
