Hi everybody!

How can I make a 1/4" one-way mirror? As you know this type of mirror has a highly reflective coating on applied on one side. How can I do this in Corona? SubObject material?

By the way, the goal here is to create an infinity mirror by placing some lights between a mirror and a one-way mirror.

There are many ways to achieve this. Basically, you want to replicate what happens in real life:
- the object is refractive
- the object has a highly reflective surface
- the object is lit from one side

The material itself could be a Corona Legacy Mtl with full refraction and high Fresnel IOR for reflections.

Hi Maru!😃

As I'm trying to replicate what happens in real life, this reflective coating should be just on one side, the inner one. How can I do this with the new physical material? I don't like using the old one.

I think this might be challenging with a single Physical Mtl, because if a surface is metallic, it cannot be refractive, and if you don't make it metallic, you are limited to IOR 3 or less. You would probably need to use Layered Mtl with 2 Corona Physical Mtls.

Maru, could you describe this last setup you mentioned?
