And what if user has picture with infinite DOF (more often than not, this is the case), or he want to to change amount of DOF? That's way it would be good to have control over what amount of blurriness backplate will receive. Actually, i expressed such wish in feature request a while ago, but it was rejected.

Yes, there is. "i have corona alpha6" - that's your answer. Download and install latest public build A7.2 and you'll have same VFB like everybody else.

No, it's not a bug, it's a correct behaviour. Although i would like to have control over what amount of blurriness backplate will recieve.

Are you sure you're not confusing it with daily builds? A7.1 never had interactive mode, nor A7.2 should do.

Both programs gives you enough tools to achieve whatever quality you need. Both are more than capable to produce "hero" trees. SpeedTree has some cool features like subD topology and control over leaf colliding (not very useful in offline rendering, IMHO), GrowFX OTOH has much superior control over leaves shape. At least such is my impressions - i haven't much time to study those tools as much as i'd like.

I've tested GrowFX demo, now playing with SpeedTree. I liked everything in GrowFX, except UI - when tree grows in complexity, it's really hard to keep track what effector controls specific areas. Other than that it's very solid plugin.
SpeedTree seems to be even more powerful and flexible and its UI is much better, although still not node based. Also it can produce geometry suitable for subdivision, which is great if you want to make hero trees. But it has very poor control over leaves compare to GrowFX. And there's stability issues from time to time.
Next, i'd like to try Plant Factory. From what i saw, it has proper node based UI. Should be much fun.
Edit: btw there's sale on GrowFX, 50% off of regular price.

Adam Hotový is working on quite comprehensive FAQ at the moment. It's not exactly documentation Corona needs, but with time it happens, i believe.

Complex blend materials and opacity maps puts stress on most raytracing engines.
IES noise - it is said, that currently work is going on this problem, so i believe it should be adressed in V1.0.
Glare is post render effect. It's better to leave to post production stage. But i've heard that there's plans to add such feature in future.
