The only thing I can think of is clearing your browser cache/cookies.

It could also be an issue with the model itself. Does it look correct if you apply a solid, non-reflective material to it?
It looks as if it had no smoothing groups. If that's the case, you can fix that by applying a "Smooth" modifier to it, then enabling the "Auto Smooth" option and cranking the Threshold value all the way up to 180.

I don't think we are aware of this issue. Please do submit a support ticket and provide basic information such as:
- Which exact version of Corona you are using?
- Which exact version of 3ds Max?
- Are you using some 3rd party plugins in your scene?
- Attach the problematic scene (or a simplified version of it)
You can do it here: https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Yep, I was about to say it looks like a texture with RWS enabled projected onto an object without RWS (or the other way around) and then saw your reply.
Remember that if you want to control the texture scaling or other params of the mapping on one or more objects you can use the "UVW Xform" modifier for this. It works with RWS and without it.

Hi, it looks like you forgot to attach your image. :)
Without it, it's very hard to imagine what exactly you are doing and what effect you are after (at least for me).

It is working fine here as well. The files are hosted at Google, so I don't think we can do anything about it. It's probably an issue with your OS, antivirus, or ISP.

This is a daily build discussion thread. Please only post bugs/feature requests/questions/suggestions related to the daily builds.

Yes, there were multiple performance-related fixes between Corona 9 and 11. I have the same suggestion as in the other thread:

Please update to Corona 11 Hotfix 2 - https://corona-renderer.com/download
Then test your case, and if you are still observing any issue, submit a new ticket at https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Hi, yes, there were improvements to this in V10 and V11:

From V10 changelog:
Improved performance when rendering with masks
In cases where the user includes just a small object and the rest of the scene is not rendered we get up to 600% speedup. In non extreme cases it leads to around a 10% speedup

From V11 changelog:
Bucket rendering - improved decision when to revert to random pixel rendering based on render regions and rendering mask.

My suggestion is to update to Corona 11 Hotfix 2 - https://corona-renderer.com/download
Then test your case, and if you are still observing a slowdown, submit a new ticket at https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

hi team - im still getting that issue when in IR mode, the IR keeps in this motion UNTIL i click off screen (ie another window program) and then IR resumes.  It seems to be with forest pack objects.

Hi, which version of 3ds Max are you using? I am asking this question because we had some similar reports in the past and it always happened with 3ds Max 2022. If you are using this version, one solution would be to update to a newer one.
Also, did it start happening only after you installed a daily build? It never happens with Corona 11 HF2?
Other than that, I can only recommend submitting a new support ticket and sharing the scene with us: https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Thanks for reporting this. Could you please contact our support team at https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new and attach your problematic scene? We will do our best to find the culprit and provide a solution.
Thanks in advance!

We have a very similar case reported for 3ds Max (Report ID=CMAX-852), but just in case, could you please share your scene with us at https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Hey Maru and thanks for your suggestion :) My aim is to actually block the light casted by the sky on the tree leaves (so they appear less translucent), without the plane casting any shadows to the foreground. I hope I managed to better explain myself here, it's tricky this one :')
I'll check your response on the other post and try it out, much appreciated!

"Blocking the light cast by the sky on the tree leaves" sounds exactly the same as "casting shadow" to me. Sorry, but I don't think there is any other solution.
Adjusting the leaf material, as dj_buckley suggested, sounds like an easier solution.

[Max] I need help! / Re: Black rectangles in saved images
« on: 2024-04-18, 11:27:41 »
Hi guys,

I have been experiencing the same issue for a while. It happened randomly. In the render frame everything is OK but when the render is saved, it has a random sized black rectangle area. It doesn't happen if I save the render as CXR, so I had to save CXR and use copy/paste to photoshop and save the image. I just installed the new hotfix 2, let's see if it solved the issue.

Regards

This should be solved in V11 Hotfix2. If it's still happening there, please contact us at https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Work in Progress/Tests / Re: Rendering with Corona

Hi, changing smoke color should be pretty straightforward.
You can adjust the absorption color and scale.
Then you can adjust the scattering color. Disabling "single bounce only" can be a good idea to get more realistic results, but it will also render slower.
Here are some screenshots. In the last one I tried setting up some kind of dense, yellowish smoke so I've set both absorption and scattering to a yellowish hue.

Note that if you leave scattering color-less (white/gray) and only set absorption to some strong color, you will get weird results, but it's supposed to work that way. With absorption, you are treating light rays with maths, so the original RGB values may at some point end up as something completely different. :)
