Hi everyone, finally I managed to post here. Such a super high quality stuff what you guys keep pulling out, I'm constantly impressed! I think I differ from the mass a little bit because I'm not using corona for architecture visualizations.
Most of my renders also involve a heavy compositing and photoshoping, but there's still plenty of corona magic behind it.
Cheers!
-
We got nice stuff here ! Gratz !
-
Great to see you posting here! Been following your art on ArtStation, but always good to see things in the forum too :) Welcome!
-
Damn, that's some amazing stuff there. I really like the surrealistic illustration style. It's like a really nice handwriting.
-
Fantastic stuff, glad to see something different here!
-
I kind of appreciate how clean it is at same time. But maybe bit of filmic magic (slight grain, some crush/lift tiny bit) would improve it further :- ) [stuff that never suits archviz yet it is overdone there, but here it's calling for it]
-
Please post your stuff as often as you can. Impressive imagery!
-
Thanks everyone! Sure. I'll keep this forum posted.
Small sneak-peek for next upcoming project.
-
I love it, very nice stuff. Congratz !
-
Beautiful work - I really hope you will post some more. Good job! :)
-
Thanks everyone! Sure. I'll keep this forum posted.
Small sneak-peek for next upcoming project.
Crazy shaders on that one! Well-done!
I love the grizzly arctic mech :)
-
I call this one finished. It was fun practice and managed to develop my procedural shaders a bit further.
Also I tried streamline my workflow.
-
Damn, this one is truly amazing. Is it all procedurally shaded? Or are some of the textures hand painted?
Also, I am wondering, what kind of modeling toolset do you use? Is it all just poly modeling in Max, or...? :)
-
Great work. Love the texturing on these. Do you write your own shaders for 3dsmax?
-
Thanks everyone.
Rawalanche: All procedurals mostly, I rarely handpaint anything if there are tons of complex objects.
Image attached is my super basic material setup where everything usually starts. There's basematerial and material for edges and cavities. Basematerial is usually blend-material of somesort, with different masks applied.
I Model everything 3dsmax with usually just raw polymodeling. Lately I have been using more and more booleans also.
Melvisio: I wish I was smart enough to write my own shaders but I struggle even with really basic maxscript :D
-
@Darkki
Haha.. I tried looking into learning python but time isn't there for that. I have a lot of respect for coders, programmers, and software developers. How they can write stuff for us to use is really mind blowing. We all dream of features we want added to software we use and they make it happen by using numbers/maths thingy. Look at VR right now, are we sure these devs aren't secretly talking with aliens or something. :0
I will try at some point to learn python, or mel scripting. Not giving up on it :)
-

Ah, yes. I use the very similar workflow for years, so I guess I was kind of looking for reassurance that I am on a right path :) Only difference is that I usually try to do most on the map level, instead of material level, meaning that I usually try to map different properties on single material, to avoid material blending, which has some performance hit (but it should not be that big).
As for modeling, if you do all in Max, without any sculpting or CAD style workflow, then that makes it even more badass :)
-
Beautiful work, and range of work! Love it all!
-
Hi all, long time no post.
Finally tested out corona triplanar and damn I like it. Speeds up my messy process so much!
Procedural shading and not a single unwrapped piece.

thats one hardcore modelling you got here man.. thanks for sharing
-
Impressive texturing for sure. Thanks for showing these
-
Hi again.
Latest piece with plenty of corona behind it. Involves also tons of overpainting.

Once again, everything is triplanar mapped corona procedural shading.

Wow, such talent man! Amazing work :) Really looking forward to seeing more of your stuff.
-
This thread is bursting with awesomeness.
-
Hey man! Just want to say, that your stuff is epic! Thanx for sharing!
-
Thanks all, long time without posting but here we go again.
Couple of years ago I did a small tutorial for modeling and rendering. There's a small timelapse.
Playing around with corona shaders start around 8min mark.
Cheers everyone!
-
Hi folks. Lates personal pieces.
All with bunch of corona magic behind. Mostly triplanar mapped surfaces and heavy use of volume materials. My overall goal was to work with 3 images simultaneously just for sake of speeding things up.

You are beast!
-
Damn ! That's some serious work there! Insane amount of détails, lighting and composition are fantastic too! I just hope i'll get to that level one day :)
Would be insanely great to see a making of ! And some wireframes, I don't know why but I love those, especially on high poly scenes like these !
-
Wow! Awesome stuff! Very cool atmosphere! Like it! Keep it up!

Are these with volume in a box or global?
-
This is incredibly awesome stuff man, congratulations!, I am curious about your pipeline. Do you model in max, use zbrush? maya, a mix? Thanks and keep posting.
-
Thanks everyone!
Nehale: Everything is global volume. Is there actually any difference between using global or using box. Obviously you can refine the area better with geometry but other than that?
totinguis: Hey Thanks! My pipeline is mostry 3dsmax, zbrush and moi3d combined. Usually scenes are put together in 3dsmax and most of the stuff is modeled there also. All the bit more complicated pieces are usually from moi3d and zbrush.

Latest work done for assembly 2019 graphics competition. Placed 1st, yay! All ofcourse rendered with latest corona build.
Also tons and tons of overpainting and colour adjusting in photoshop.
-
I didn't see other entries in the challenge, but i already can say that your win is well deserved. Great masterpiece, like every other of your works!
-
Yes, that's definitely a masterpiece! I shared it with our team as soon as I saw it on Facebook. :)
Anyone played Zeno Clash? That guy kinda reminds me of https://www.giantbomb.com/father-mother/3005-10042/

Hi all again.
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/v1rGGA
Finished larger personal project this time. Did a re-desing of axelay, a really great videogame from snes era what I used to play a lot when I was a kid.
Everything rendered with corona ofc.
Tons of images at artstation, wont spam them all here, but couple of examples.

Just wow

Tried out new quadremesher plugin and it turned out to be a quite gamechanger for me. Now I can turn my horrible boolean vomit-geometry into something usefull!
Full procedural materials as always. Triplanar mapping and other dirty tricks.

Hi all again. Recently joined a Threadripper club with brand new 3970x and my god is it fast. So much fun to render stuff.

Your procedurals puts my substance painter textures on shame :] Gorgeous work as always!
-
I guess you should enjoy the new UVW Randomizer + Triplanar combo. :)
-
Thanks everyone! :)
Romullus: Thanks, I really want to do more substance painter stuff myself but corona procedurals works quite well in my own artstyle. What I really, really need is a good curvature map for corona, would help quite a lot.
Maru: yeah, you bet, perfect tools for just to let the shaders do all the work :D
Continuing the mech series, new stuff:
