Object not showing in render after applying material

I'm currently modeling a simple chair with stitches. I was able to model the stitches using 'create shape from selection' then spline configs - convert to edit poly. Up until this point the stitches show on my render but the moment I apply any type of material to it, it does not show anymore.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

Strange thing indeed.
Can you please attache the scene so we can check? Or the problematic parts only if it's a big one?
This way it will be faster than guessing what can be the reason for disappearing strands.
