No developments on this front at the moment. We plan to revisit denoising and do a general overhaul (but not for 12) of everything, including UI, so we'd look into the generalization of the Intel denoiser then.

DCC is Digital Content Creation or in this case Creator - ie, 3ds Max or C4D with associated version number :)

Did you check temps when rendering? Maybe the CPU is throttling because of overheating? Another thing to check is RAM consumption - if your system is running out of memory, Windows will start using swap file and that is very slow, so your CPU does not have anything to do but wait for data to be delivered.

what kind of base materials would you make apart from the one which are already present in the preset, corona material library and cosmos?

More plastics and ceramics would be good but thats not really why i think the feature could be useful. It would make consistency slightly quicker to achieve and also be a great timesaver.
 For instance im currently doing lots of work with a 'studded plastic brick company' and it would be great for storing presets that dont need maps, just specific SSS settings and colours from brand guidelines.
Its the same sort of reason id love to be able to load libraries into the corona colour map to be honest. It would just be great to have things like paint manufacturers, pantones and brand colours easily accessible within the material.

Hello, rendering with viewport selection activated makes c4d crash when a cosmos object is selected (even converted in polygons - It seems to be a problem with access to textures)

In my experience and broadly speaking the procedural sun & sky set up will be faster to render out than an HDRI. That said I personally do like to use HDRIs for certain interiors because they can get you really nice subtle details in the lighting - for example you get some greens from the ground, some nice orange from the brick building thats in the HDRI etc etc.

That said the procedural setup is awesome because you have total control over the actual light sources - sure you might need to model some of the environment to get those HDRI like subtleties (that are typically hard to notice anyway) but it tends to render faster. And again, you really can set up the lighting any way you please.

As far as cutting down on render times, you can try the usual GI vs AA balance tweaking but that in my experience gets you minuscule improvements. Corona is optimized as is. You do want to switch the UHD cache to the animation preset though and if you don't mind sacrificing realism then lowering the MSI to 1 might help you clean the noise faster (but the lighting will be darker and some materials less "intense").

Other than that personally I just let it render :)

I already set both of them on Turbo wich is the highest performance my laptop can run, apparently is the same thing, I'm currently rendering and its on calculating GI, and CPU is running on max 30% and dropping back same when I do interactive rendering, it only shows black and CPU usage its on 15% max, I use corona 11.
