First things i would check - does the scale of your objects is reasonable compared to rounded edges radius, e.g. the effect might be working fine, but it's hard to see if the object is 100 m big. Also check if bump map strength is set at default 1.0 in physical material. If that doesn't help, try rounded edges on some simple object, like box primitive, maybe your original object has some issues with geometry that prevents rounded edges to work correctly.

Any chance of uploading simple scene with not working rounded edge? Could be a simple box. You can attach max, or zip files directly to the forum posts.

Hi,

I had a look at your file. I could not reproduce the issue with a simple cube present in the scene file you provided. I checked your file using Corona 9 HF 1 and 3ds Max 2023. I used CoronaRoundEdges in the Base bump slot on the CoronaPhysicalMtl, and I used a noise texture plugged into an additional bump slot in the CoronaRoundEdges map. All seemed to work fine for me.

Did you try to change radius and see if other values might work better? Also try to remove additional bump and see if that changes things. I didn't have chance to see your scene yet, but if it's working fine for Corona support, i don't see a reason why it would be different on my pc.

So i've looked at your scene. The rounded edges effect is working, but is barely visible in your scene. I think it's combination of couple things - first, your lighting is very soft and Corona RE does not work very well in such conditions, it likes when there's enough contrast between lit and unlit surfaces. Second, your radius is too big, if you reduce it to more realistic value, let's say 0,3 cm, you should get better results. In the end, you need to remember that rounded edges is shading effect and its potential is limited, it also could be that Corona's implementation could be improved, since i think some other renderers are able to achieve somehow better results. Consider adding physical bevel to your walls, as that will always be superior over shading effects. Chamfer in latest 3ds Max is pretty powerful to handle almost any kind of topology.
