[Max] Tutorials & Guides / Render an isometric Retro Diner
« on: 2021-06-18, 15:37:27 »
Hi,

I just launched my first course on Udemy on how to render one of my scenes (an isometric 'Retro Diner') in Autodesk #3dsmax and #coronarender. It's a course for beginners, but I also focus on the LightMix feature in Corona quite a lot.
It would be great if you could check it up! Your feedback would be highly appreciated!

Here it is for free (only for 3 days) with this coupon code: A2DA3964EEFC87BE8469

Thanks!

I really like the models, materials, and lighting. I think this scene would be a perfect candidate for the new V7 daily build with the Corona Physical material. I think high roughness and the sheen feature would work great with the cloth materials.

Hi Maru,

I tried the new physical material and played a bit with the sheen feature. Here is the new render with the sheen feature and the old one without. I created new V7 physical materials only for the purple fabric, the gold one and the yellow one in the foreplan on the right. You can notice the difference (I used exactly the same colours) - the new raw render and the old raw render

thanks,

Thanks so much for your answer Tom, I'm checking it up.
It's true, there are different names for similar features, I used Quixel and Unreal only for a little bit and then I knew Corona is already an unbiased engine, that's why now i was wondering about the distinction. I noticed in V7 it's a lot more handy to create physical materials due to the presets, it's a great feature indeed.

About the scene, sure I really meant I can upload it, I sent you a reply.
Thanks,

Hi, here's a test but I'm still playing with the new materials ...so i noticed the old material is now 'legacy material' and the new one is physical, this means the old materials are not physical? (sorry for the dumb question)

Thanks,

yes, there's a plane with a lace texture, an alfa, just a material, not a model

Hi everyone,
here's an image I did being inspired by an old black and white picture I saw in a science documentary. My intention was only to capture that certain atmosphere so I used lots of Evermotion models but also some I modeled myself in 3ds max and Marvelous designer. For the textures I only used photoshop and Corona.

Thanks for viewing

sorry this is an old post and probably not relevant anymore, but I actually managed to do this effect with the Corona AO shader and I've used a dirt map for the distance

Gallery / set design - saturated colours
« on: 2020-01-19, 19:00:59 »
Hi all, I would like to share some explorations I did lately around set design with very saturated colours. The challenge was - still looks realistic or not at this level of saturation. I don't know... so comments are welcome. Thanks.
