Hey Guys

I`m very proud to give you NoEmotion HDRs. Collection of 150 spherical HDRs, 15000 x 7500 pixel resolution. I shot those in 2010  in about 10 months time. We`ve been using these on many projects in the past and finally we decided to share them with the community. It`s absolutely free, just visit our website and download the ones you like.

http://noemotionhdrs.net/

The final HDR files together are around 35GB, and are hosted on multiple servers. Dropbox Pro and Google drive  services and we are also using other two webhosting servers for mirrors. We cannot provide more than couple of Terabytes of traffic per day.We understand that you want it all, but please don`t download everything at once, if you do, nobody else will be able to, and  most importantly, be patient :)

I would like to thank very very much to  Ondra Karlík for helping us with hosting one of the mirror links on the Corona server!

thank you Happy rendering

Peter

Its indeed must appreciated. First time i have such high resolution hdris to play with.
Shame on those recriminating this act as a damage to their bussines.
Fuck those kind of bussines.
And really appreciated. Nice surprise to find out that the guy releasing those maps was the same person that did a lot of images that i love and inspire me in the past.

Really nice gesture from you guys, I've been a fan of your and Marek Denko's work for years, your fungi image has been my background image for quite some time a couple of years ago.

I find it really funny that someone mentions cgpeers and helping the developer(s) in the same sentence... it just doesn't go together. It is one of the most notorious CG software pirate sites no matter what, and posting links like that shouldn't be allowed in my opinion - no matter they contain free files.

Anyway, back to topic - NoEmotion :) really, really nice work. Will try some of those later :) Thank you very much, appreciate it a lot!!

Well it seems that a torrent would not be such a bad idea as I could not download from any sources, dropbox or google are on their knees, mirror here goes at one Hdri/6hrs... only noEmotion website works, but the four zip I downloaded are all 'corrupted' according to winrar or 7zip... according to 3dsmax too by the way...
P2P is not bad in itself far from it !!

They are amazing anyway, a few seems just like in my dreams !

A torrent for this isn't a bad idea, however sending people to that website is. Creating a torrent and sharing it here would be a great initiative, someone with the complete set could make one and I would be to seed it once I get it.

You guys have to understand that at least generating traffic to their website is the least amount of thanks and why torrents are avoided.

They probably originally thought people would handpick what they need, but alas, collector's mania runs deep.

today I had to change the links, somebody was doing 2000 concurrent connections with some script that reconnected 1 second after I dropped them ;)

Of course they deserve the attention for this great gesture but those HDRI's will be downloaded, packed together and torrented anyway. I think it's smarter to be a step ahead and offer a torrent on their own website with a couple of seeders then you have the traffic without needing the bandwith.

I know that there is a big stigma around torrents but they can also be used in a good and sustainable way.

The problem with torrents are that usually you have to download all pack and then choose what's useful for you and what's not. I will gladly download 5-6 HDRI's when links became more alive, but to have whole 150 on HDD, why on earth somebody needs it?

Edit: BTW, i blame those HDRI's for very slow forum attachement loading lately. Sometimes i have to wait few seconds to load single image in gallery. Hopefully everyone will download HDRI's they need in a few weeks and things became normal again.

Because 50% of people are still in the phase of being scared they won't be able to find it again, even if we live in a digital age where you can find everything you need in a matter of seconds. Instead they hoard everything they find (especially the free stuff), and that includes the software that they need and don't need as well.

Making one big mess out of stuff that they probably won't use ever but can feel safe "having it available" :)

I'm decreasing the HDRI download limits every day, but somehow every time people find way to milk it to the max. You can test server download speed by downloading something big, such as the A7 installer. If it goes slower than 200KB/s, contact me, I will deal with it.

I would have no problem if they offered torrent, but not other people doing so without their knowledge.

Obviously, torrent is mere a tool, context is all that matters, which is what I was referring to. Maybe they don't care :- ) But it would be still impolite to do so, which many seem to be oblivious to.

I would say that those kind of HDRI's are like a condom or a gun... better to have them and not need them than need them and not have them. XD. Hope this week pass fast and everything return to normal. Not fan of a torrent for this.

One sugestion: you dont think in the posibility to pack all intro one file and put a price for this ( not totaly free ). I pay a lot for HDRIs like CGsource and some are not so balanced price/quality.
I saw some of your maps and the quality is very nice.
An if you want to share for free I think torrent can help you.

Thanks for sharing with us.

Hi Alex

I don`t think we need a torrent. The download speed from the server we are hosting at is just fine and available too. enjoy the HDRIs :)

Awesome, much appreciated!
Some are a bit inconsistent in saturation etc across the same texture but
can't complain about free and there's plenty to choose from to get around that, thnx!

BTW, and some might have suggested that already,
why don't you offer  a free package and then have the rest available
for a nice price? Something cheap, 10 for $10 or something
(plenty of easy and free/cheap Wordpress or HTML plugins
to offer paid downloads via paypal/cc etc)

Maybe an idea :)
