hello, i would like to give the shadow catcher more realism and i was just wondering if it is possible to use exactly the same (hdr) texture as from the sky object to bumb the shadow catcher. Does anyone here have experience on how to solve this or is it not possible because of the mapping? (sphere mapping or dome mapping and ground is flat). if it's not possible, it would be cool if the shadowcatcher had an option to adjust the projection ... thanks a lot :)

Hi there, sorry for the delay. I was not able to get this working either. I'm not sure if it's expected or not but I have reported it and I will let you know the outcome.

I don't think that shadow catcher supports self-shadowing. If it would, then it would be not much different from regular material. Maybe in your case it would be feasible to replace shadow catcher with Corona physical material and use camera projection to map background image to the ground plane?
