Current state to object is not supported? Can we move/scale/rotate individual clones?

[C4D] Feature Requests / Bring scatter clones closer option
« on: 2022-06-02, 20:29:55 »
Hi Guys, would be nice to have an option to bring closer the clones inside the defined areas (splines). Sometimes you have a few clones, but they end up too far from each other. And if you size the spline down you mess with the clones.

Does it make sense?

123
God damn it, didn't realize it, and for some reason it was working with the white material which made me blind for it.

Thank you so much.

Ricardo

Hi guys, please take a look at the file. Replace the HRD with another one.
I really appreciate your help.

There is something weird going on. We have plenty of light to catch the reflections. I can set a new material so you can see.

That's what I'm trying to show you, we are not getting the same results as we've got on preview in the library.

126
Hey guys,
Experimenting with some materials from library but it seems not to work very well. Also tried to convert it to physical and again no success.
How should we deal with them?

Hi Micheael

Really good to know about those fixes. So much alleviated now. For some reason I hate updates, but I'll have to head to V8.

Thanks Pal

No, completely white. What's going on?

What's your OS, C4D version, Corona version?
Could you add a scene of yours that does not work?
Anything else would be guessing.

This is how it renders here in the IR:

Appreciate you help Cinemike. I'm running Win 10, Cinema 4D R25, Corona 7 Hot fix2

I figured out a new way which is stacking two materials and use the VM into the opacity mask. It seems to be working.

[C4D] Resolved Bugs / Re: C4D Layer Shader in Bump channel
« on: 2022-05-29, 20:37:03 »
You can also mix bump's using our Mixture shader ;)

Listen, I'm sorry to be incisive, but this feature is so basic it scares me that it's not available.
How to control bump/displacement direction with Mix shader? Features such as Offset, blending modes and transparency cannot be missing. If I want to control the displacement of one of the layers in the opposite direction, how do I do that?
I get a little embarrassed in front of my company when I suggest a better tool to the team and then find out that basic functionality is missing.
Please, do you have a prediction for these features to work in a simple an intuitive way?

131
It should be simple like that, what I'm doing wrong?

SSS Works as expected here, you just have to fiddle a bit with several values to get the proper color but it's definitely possible and not rocket-science.

I just wish it was better sampled, currently it's very noisy against regular diffuse material, quite ugly.

Which version are you using, I see no camera/lights in your file.

133
OK...

Simple SSS is rediculous! Make me laugh. It doesn't work for solid objects.

Thanks John_DO. Yes, very noisy and slow to render. Even Modo crap can be better in Render times for SSS.

I still think there is a lot to be improved in SSS, everything looks waxy IMO. Simple SSS in Corona is ridiculous. I don't see a purpose for use it. I'm exploring the Volumetrics feature yet, definitely I'll dig deep into that. it's a very important resource for organic materials and the most import part of my job.

Hey there!

Tried to stack a few materials with displacements and masking them with vertexmaps but they seems not work. The mask only work for the base layer.

That's really disappointing, am I doing something wrong?
