Hey guys,
Please see if I'm doing something wrong or it is indeed a bug.
Note that the color for SSS is not respected in the second material.

[C4D] I need help! / UV texture repetition mode
« on: 2023-07-13, 03:07:25 »
Hi Guys,

It may sound unfamiliar to someone. But I'll try to make it as clear as possible what I am looking for.

When you have your UV islands crossing the 0 to 1 space, by default the texture will be repeated, right?

In Modo, I used to use an option called Edge mode, which simply extended the boundaries of the mapped texture to fill the gaps in the model without the need to fit the islands into the UV space.

Do we have a similar option in Corona or C4D?

I'm rendering a 5K image and the render estimate is 4h 30m on an i9 12900K. This is impractical. I don't know what I do, it wouldn't be my choice but I think I'll have to go to another renderer. On Redshift it should take 5 min.

Hi guys,

As far as I remember I didn't have that problem. Why are tone mapping adjustments not being applied when saving images?

[C4D] I need help! / Masking - leaking issue
« on: 2022-12-27, 17:49:49 »
Hi Guys, it was not supposed to behave like this, but I couldn't figure it out how to solve it. The textures are working fine in other 3D softwares.

Hi guys,

Well, very basic set up. I can't make it work. Any particular reason? Something I'm missing?

I'd appreciate any help.

Guys,
Don't take me wrong, but 20 min for a 1K image on an i9 12900K is disappointing once we look at GPU render engines out there. The same image at 4K would take 5h and 30m or even more. That's out of question!
Do you think it's possible to reduce it considerably? Honestly, volumetric scattering in Corona is one of its treasures IMO and I would love to keep using it, but it impracticable the way it is.

[Scatter] I need help! / Scatter over displaced surfaces
« on: 2022-12-03, 00:17:07 »
Hey guys,
I couldn't figure it out but that came to me, and I think there is no option for it. Is there a way to scatter over a displaced material?
As you can see, some of them get flying and others are hidden. For very small things that becomes a problem.

Would be very practical to be able to click over a connection line to add a new node in between.

Does it work with Corona Camera tag?

Hi guys

Why can't I make it work? It seemed to be working on the last version.

[C4D] I need help! / UV distortion on sculpted objects
« on: 2022-10-31, 20:41:50 »
Hey guys, if you don't mind how can I solve this issue. I have this leaf with some sculpted details and proper UV layout.

As you can see if you check the mesh with the sculpt tag off it is working fine, but if it is on, some distortion is happening for some reason.

I've already done that before and I don't remember this causing any problem.

[C4D] I need help! / Selection tag for masking
« on: 2022-10-21, 02:56:18 »
Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to mask a texture in the roughness channel with selection tags. For example, suppose you want to apply a roughness map to only half of a sphere, how do you do that?

[C4D] I need help! / Animation noise issue
« on: 2022-09-13, 00:08:42 »
Hi guys,

I've been trying everything but can't get rid of this noise when animating it.

It happens even if you leave the object static in the scene.

Any advice on that? I'm pretty sure I'm missing some settings here in order to get it smooth and clean.

Appreciate any help

Hi Guys,
Still not quite comfortable with physical materials, when trying to achieve some sort of translucent matte rubber material for instance, I can't achieve the same result as I get with legacy material. When you apply volumetrics scattering it messed up with roughness parameter. Maybe something should be reviewed in order to make it more accurate/intuitive.
