I tried to search for this but couldn't find the answer, was just wondering if its possible to display opacity directly in viewport, I think with vray it does it automatically for PNG files (I just installed max 2017 so maybe I just need to tick some internal option but can't find it...)

Is there a way to make my render node private, so I can only use it for DR and not the whole office?  I am renting a desk and just installed a render node for my use, but it seems that anybody can click search LAN and it will show up on their PC...

Everything was okay, I think until I tried to play with over the internet backburner setup and used VPNs.  Now for some reason Corona is unable to find my render nodes automatically (I have to manually write the IPs), but strangest thing is the shifted pixel rendering, it seems that each node is rendering at a slightly different location and the final result looks blurry. 

I tried everything I think, removed all camera shifts, the example is using no camera just a perspective render.  All paths are correct, nothing is missing, all corona installs are same versions, licensed is paid... not sure what is happening?! 

Its really strange, because top of image looks fine, but the bottom you can clearly see the blurring.

By the way, vray can find render nodes automatically and renders fine, so I think it is just Corona problem, not the networking.

Any ideas?

I'm working on this scene, mostly lit by interior lighting, I wanted to use IES lights but was getting a ton of noise. 

Then I tried to use sphere shape instead of disk and like a miracle most of the noise cleared up really fast!

I thought we were supposed to use disk for IES lights, or did I read something wrong?

Hope I can get some help, have urgent deadline... my old machine died, I installed corona on new machine but now have problem with DR, only 2 nodes render the other 3 fail (max trying to start then fails, its like a loop, it keeps trying and fails) I had similar problem with vray license, but it is now fixed, so I wonder is it because I installed Corona on new machine and didn't deactivate the license on old machine??

Trying to render background image on a plane but without casting shadows to allow more light into the room.

I turned off the cast shadows in the object properties, but now the bg is being cut off by the glass in the windows. 

Anybody knows why its doing that?

[Max] I need help! / Upgrading FairSaaS license

So yesterday I subscribed for FairSaaS license with 5 nodes.  I need just 1 extra node license now, is the only way to have 1W + 6 nodes to get the 10 node option? 

If its only way, how should I proceed? Cancel / deactivate my current FairSaaS and buy the FairSaaS 1W+10nodes, or should I buy the one I want and deactivate the other?

[Max] I need help! / DR server not starting

I have just built and started new node, everything is fresh installed, autodesk trial, corona 1.0, by the way windows 7 pro is also on trial at the moment.

But I can't even start the DR for some reason, it just crashes, "DrServer.exe has stopped working"

also Vray Spawner works okay.

Any ideas?

Gallery / Renderpockets - DIY Helmer Renderfarm Animation

Hello all, this is a test animation using corona to showcase Renderpockets.

Total render time was kept at under 3 minutes per frame (30 fps), a total of 2770 frames rendered under 14 hours using 5 x i7 3770s (renderpockets). 

There is some flickering due to the fact that each frame is only using 30 passes at default settings at 1280x720 resolution. Raw render, no post (yeah corona!!)

I came across this motherboard online while looking for smaller dual xeon factor boards, it looks interesting, have anybody had any experience with this one?

Also, I was looking for 32gb mini-ITX boards, and found this one that supports that AMD cpu mentioned above, was wondering, because this board only has 2 RAM slots so you have to use 16gb sticks which are for server.
