With ai denoising =D

5hrs on twin x5650

Obvious artifacts at dof areas.

High quality filtering does not work with AI denoisers, you should get warning message about that. If you rendered with one of AI denoisers enabled, then HQ filtering was automatically disabled.

Yes, i think i misunderstood controls. Will run another test in this scene.

in short DL, Beautiful retail, but image contrast may lead to loss of shadow details.

In most of cases shadow details competes with design representetion (Those are not catologue photos tho =) ) And most of designers like to represent their interiors as clean as possible.

I care more about the artifactes caused by denoising and serious lack of rendertimes on this images. Using single twinCPU X5650 xeon in 2019 is a very bad idea -_-

Nice, great mood. But stone wall is way to flat, especially around the corners areas. I'm guessing you're using normal map on it, but weak or ne displacement at all. Try playing around with displacement, even derivative map from diffuse could improve the look, or you could go extra mile and model/ sculpt the wall from scratch.

Actualy it is using displacement. Just something went wrong.

That might be smoothing groups. There are 3 options how to fix it.

1 - Disable refraction on glass
2 - Disable smoothing groups and reenable them
3 - If the geometry is thin (single polygon thikness) then you might try to as shell modifyer.

This one definetly needs some improvements. As in design as in render.

- The image overal looks unlight
- There is couple of costructive errors with kitchen
- Background is very blurred
- Celing is almost blank black it should have atleast some light gradient on it and reflections.

May I ask about average render time and pixel resolution? I'm also interested in the number of light you have used. One last question is it Corona for 3ds?
Thanks;)

Rendertimes with regular corona denoiser were around 4hrs per 2400x1800 image and with AI denoiser it was about 2hrs per 4000x3000.

Number of light is very variative from scene to scene.

And yes it is 2017 3dsMAX + corona.

is AI denoiser fine for production rendering? I thought it doesn´t preserve bump map and is too aggresive to use in any case except previews

In some cases yes, but if you have enough time and resource it is better to use native denoiser.
