[C4D] I need help! / Re: Neon for corona
« on: 2020-10-22, 19:33:58 »

For reference on how to use the Corona distance shader, please see: https://help.c4d.corona-renderer.com/support/solutions/articles/12000073516
You may want to experiment with it to control the opacity channel in a Corona Light material.
(just a thought)

Have you tryied updating your OS to something new/different from HighSierra? (try to skip Mojave hehe)
Regards.

It depends on what you're trying to achieve.
Personally, I would prefer to use stacked material tags.

Hi LP, that is not possible for now. Sorry for the inconvenience.

[Max] General Discussion / Re: Direct light effect
« on: 2020-10-09, 17:36:19 »
There are lots of ways to achieve tthe results you're looking for; however, if you say you're using portals, you're probably using an older Corona version. I'll suggest first test the scene using latest Corona release, which requires no portals at all. After that, If you can share some viewport screenshots and light parameters will be handy as well to understand better how you are setting up your lights.

[C4D] I need help! / Re: Smoothing CAD models
« on: 2020-09-23, 17:58:13 »
In most of the cases, you just need to import your model into C4D without the normals, untick the appropriate checkbox at the import dialog. This way C4D will take care of the Normals/Phong tag. Give it a try and let me know the outcome. Cheers.

Could you be more descriptive? or give more detailed info.
Screenshots will help.

Hi,
The displacement is only taken from the base material, not coating materials. Maybe this is why you're not seeing the correct result.

[C4D] I need help! / Re: Corona Renderer C4D Tutorial
« on: 2020-09-01, 19:16:12 »

Hi,
The official Corona Courses are shown in the Corona Academy (https://corona-academy.com/), althought there is no official Corona C4D Academy yet, you can take the official Corona Academy courses to learn, and you can then apply what you've learned to your projects; is not that difficult. Remember if you can't find the location of a property or a value, you can always take a look at the helpdes at https://help.c4d.corona-renderer.com/support/home or contact support directly.
Hope this helps just a bit.
Regards.

[C4D] Bug Reporting / Re: vertex map displace
« on: 2020-08-24, 22:40:50 »

Hi, usually displacement is only taken from the first material, that's why you are getting no displacement at all, because the displacement map from your first material is a black color map.
You can try mixing the displacements at first material using the same masks you're using to layer the materials. (see attached images)
I hope this can help you.
Regards.

[C4D] Resolved Bugs / Re: Mask Slot Layered Material
« on: 2020-08-24, 21:56:29 »
Hi, Could you be more descriptive or add a screen capture of what you're trying to do?
So far it seems to work as expected. All masks were connected right into the node editor (node to node).

[Max] I need help! / Re: corona error message
« on: 2020-08-20, 23:56:22 »
The message is shown either when an error occurred when saving the CXR file and then tried to resume the render, or when opening the file in the CIE. Unfortunately, AFAIK there is no easy fix for that, since the error occurred at saving the file. The solution would be to re-render the image. Regards.

A workaround is to set up a "Take" for each camera, then create a Render Setting for each Take, you need to set up the save options section to define where each render will be saved (the beauty render and the render elements/multi-pass).
After you have set it all, If you have set up the Team render repository folder, you can use the option "Save all takes with assets" or "save marked takes with assets" to save each render job to the team render folder, and then you can run all the jobs trough the TR web interface.
I hope I explained myself hehe.
Regards.
