Hi

I have a work flow generally, everything gets modeled then lighting, and then textured.
I am a Max and Vray users for years now.
So I still setup everything in Vray, and then if I thing in certain cases Corona may be better, I convert all to Corona.
I have completed a very good interior, well I am happy with it.
Do people use Corona from the get go, or do the same ?

But the attached I am not so happy with.
HDRI, and standard out of the box settings in Corona.
Clients always want blue skies and partially cloudy.
This is my question, what are the other setting I should be tweeking to get a better result.

This file is 200mb , lots of Proxie trees, bushes, and 40 houses, 15 HQ cars  so no problem with file size.
But I have a very good machine, Intel Xeon CPU E5-2680 v3.0 @ 2.50ghz 24 cores Logic processors 48, tares through images.
( would love another machine like this but they are mad money, if anybody is selling one let me know)

Advice would be great.

Thank you

Phil

This is not a very good idea. The Converter is amazing, but still it will not convert everything to look 100% the same as in Vray. I would suggest preparing everything for Corona from start.
In case you need it, Vray has its own Corona converter too. ;)

About the image:
My advice would be to check out some real life photos and compare. Quick suggestions:
-repeating texture on the ground
-sky could be brighter
-more contrast in the CGI part (everything but sky)
-materials too bright and plastic-looking
-looks like reflectivity is missing from most materials (almost everything has some reflectivity in real life)
-some post production could help

Overal comments.

Lithing could be better. Try to use only HDRI for the lithing.
Camera angle is too active. And there is too much ground. Try may be to use frontal camera.
Also you shold sow more love to the textures. There are no noticible reflections on the brick, roofing and road surface.

Also i have attached some comments in the image below.

When I see the sky. I realized that client's taste always ruin our work. :D

If you really have to use this sky, add some fake shadow from those clouds would be better.

Thank you all very much for the feed back.

In relation to textures, and reflective factor.

For example, tarmac, wood, window frames of pvc , metal painted surfaces, roof tiles.

Were is a good place to find the information on textures and the RF.

Thank you

There is no 100% guide in how to make realistic reflections. The best way to do this is to look at relal life photos and try to replicate the look by testing (wich should not be the problem with doublecore xeon by the hand). About overal shading principals you can look here http://viscorbel.com/products/ those are ment for vray but those are very good and the methods he describe can easly be fited in corona.
